Former Republican president George W. Bush told donors that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is his brother Jeb Bushs most formidable opponent in the GOP primary, according to Politico.
Politico spoke to half a dozen donors at an Oct. 18 event in Denver. The attendees reported that Bush said I just dont like the guy.
Bush also slammed Cruzs alliance with runaway frontrunner Donald Trump, who has repeatedly mocked Jeb as pathetic and low energy.
-snip-
The event was organized by the GOP establishment to bolster Jebs campaign. But it managed to attract only one hundred donors by offering last-minute, reduced-price ticket sales to fill up the room, Politico added.

Why would Bush claim that Cruz has hijacked the GOP when Trump is leading in the polls?
It could be the Trump is the target of his comments, after all. Bush is insulting by ignoring.
Ted Cruz should send a check to Bush for this. I’m not a supporter of his but it certainly is a feather in his cap.
I think they cannot get their heads around someone from the private sector walking in and taking THE prize rattle. They are psychologically incapable of it.
I guess it took Trump rattling those bushes to get GWB to come out of hiding and expose himself? Politically speaking, of course.
Sickening. Are we fully enlightened about the Bush clan now?
One World Order minions all.
The GOPe is trying to get Trump and Cruz to start tearing each other up.
Pit those two against each other to take each other out and Jeb is back on track.
This insult from GWB was carefully planned.
Politico is actually called Propagandico. It is the White House's personal propaganda organ.
Bush said I just dont like the guy."
As Timber Rattler observes, W. Bush FINALLY comes out of isolation, not to criticize Obama's dismantling of America, but to attack a conservative Populist.
Forensic Evidence #18273999819839 that there is only one party: The Elitists.

This is pathetic. DEATH TO THE ESTABLISHMENT!!!
As someone who almost lost a parent each to both WTC attacks, I will always be grateful for not using a $2 million missile to take out a $10 empty tent.
That said, both Jeb and Cruz need to drop out. Neither are on the right side of this election’s main issue. Even Democrats support it!
W is making me regret voting for him.
If you look at Perot or Cruz and his parents, you see people who were smart and worked hard to get where they are. While by all accounts GHWB was a decent hard-working man, though obviously of privileged background, his off-spring are spoiled entitled brats.
Dafuq you on about? Sounds like you are not for the attacking of terrorists in their own lands, and are anti-Cruz.
GHWB was a CIA spook. He was an establishment Republican sent in to ‘keep an eye’ on Ronald Reagan. He was a very bad influence on our country.
Notice Geo. W. doesn’t actually criticize Trump, the one who belittles Jebbie.
Go ahead, unload on Trump! I want to see what happens.
“WOULD BE FORMIDABLE COMPETITION TO JEB”
Who wouldn’t be.
{”That said, both Jeb and Cruz need to drop out. Neither are on the right side of this elections main issue. Even Democrats support it!”}
Why am I reading so much drive in the comment sections of FR? Are you folks actually in competition for
The Stupidest Remark Ever Posted on FR Award?
You are a top contender.
W showing his inner Trump? Amateur.
Katherine Harris bailed Bush out in Florida to give him the 2000 election and was very loyal to the Bush family. Harris received an intense amount of negative publicity from the press but was highly professional and acted responsibly.
The Bush family later trashed Haris in her 2006 run for Senate, with then Florida Governor Jeb Bush questining Katherine Harris's ability. Bush actively solicited other candidates to run against her.
GW hasn't had a peep to say about the direction of this country for the past 7 year and now want's to bash the T.E.A. Party favorite.
Trump is dead-on, tying Yeb to his brother.
“When Bushes say the right reasons they mean the House of Saud, or Halliburton, or name your crony.”
Alright I will: the Bush family.
