Former Republican president George W. Bush told donors that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is his brother Jeb Bushs most formidable opponent in the GOP primary, according to Politico.
Politico spoke to half a dozen donors at an Oct. 18 event in Denver. The attendees reported that Bush said I just dont like the guy.
Bush also slammed Cruzs alliance with runaway frontrunner Donald Trump, who has repeatedly mocked Jeb as pathetic and low energy.

The event was organized by the GOP establishment to bolster Jebs campaign. But it managed to attract only one hundred donors by offering last-minute, reduced-price ticket sales to fill up the room, Politico added.

'nuff said.
After initially declining to comment, the Cruz campaign issued a statement:
I have great respect for George W Bush, and was proud to work on his 2000 campaign and in his administration. Its no surprise that President Bush is supporting his brother and attacking the candidates he believes pose a threat to his campaign. I have no intention of reciprocating. I met my wife Heidi working on his campaign, and so I will always be grateful to him.
Now that’s class. Unlike Bush’s comments.
But this can only help Cruz considering who it’s from.
GWB is putting dynasty over nation. Why can’t they all just go away?
It’s official, the “establishment” hates Ted Cruz. I’m good with it.
When has the Bush family displayed class?
I always wondered why Ross Perot hated the Bush family so much. Perhaps this is a clue.
No need to worry GOPe, Polutico and cnn’s latest poll has Cruz only at 4%.
Bingo!
“Cruz is doing it all for his own personal gain, and thats juxtaposed against a family thats been all about public service and doing it for the right reasons.”
When Bushes say “the right reasons” they mean the House of Saud, or Halliburton, or name your crony.
Grrr!
Bush also slammed Cruzs alliance with runaway frontrunner Donald Trump, who has repeatedly mocked Jeb as pathetic and low energy.
Politico? I think I will take this with a grain of salt....but, if true, very disappointing after 16 years of silence against his critics and true enemies of this country......
Likes Bubba, doesn’t like Cruz. Hmmm
As big brother steps up to protect his little brother, he exposes himself as the quite not ready for prime time player he was.
Sad but true.
G.W. a guy who wouldn’t talk about Obama for 8 years is now attacking a conservative. Tells you all you need to know about the uni-party and the elitest class.
Go home and paint a picture George. On your way drop Yeb off at a Mexican restaurant to wash dishes or change light bulbs as he is good at balancing on his tippy toes.
It’s not strange that he’d trash Cruz. What does strike me is that he didn’t trash Trump who has really never had much good to say about W, and is thoroughly trouncing his brother.
Cruz is polling #2 in Texas behind Trump and Jeb is at #4. George W. is butt-hurt because Jeb has no chance in Texas even though the Bush donors in Texas have donated millions and are pissed that Jeb is a flop.
