Trump tweets NYT story on Bush failing to heed 9/11 warning
The Hill ^ | October 19, 2015 | Mark Hensch

Donald Trump is not letting Americans forget that the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened under former President George W. Bush.

Trump’s relentless attacks on the issue come as he battles former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.), George W. Bush’s brother, for the GOP’s presidential nomination in 2016.

“Interesting reading re: September 11th,” he tweeted Monday afternoon, referencing a New York Times story titled “The Bush White House was Deaf to 9/11 Warnings.” “Jeb is fighting to defend a catastrophic event,” Trump said of Jeb Bush in a separate post.

“I am fighting to make sure it doesn’t happen again,” he added. "Jeb is too soft – we need tougher & sharper.”

I have a friend who was working as a defense contractor in Saudi on 9/11. He had many good “friends” and “allies” that he worked for and with. They were fist pumping and celebrating on 9/11.

Somebody please tell me exactly what specific intelligence Bush had that was ignored, and what specific action should have been taken.

I don’t think so.

I still don’t trust Trump. From listening to him I don’t get the idea he wants to be president he wants someone else to be president but who. Is it Hillary or Cruz.

I’m wondering if he’s clearing the field for Cruz possibly.

Trump and Cruz seem to be pretty close.

http://www.politico.com/story/2015/10/jeb-bush-george-bush-donors-ted-cruz-214933#ixzz3p4GXctdv

Inside a sleek Denver condominium, George W. Bush let a hundred donors to his brother’s campaign in on a secret. Of all the rival Republican candidates, there is one who gets under the former president’s skin, who he views as perhaps Jeb Bush’s most serious rival for the party’s nomination.

It isn’t Donald Trump, whose withering insults have sought to make Jeb pay a political price for his brother’s presidency. It also isn’t Marco Rubio, Jeb’s former understudy who now poses a serious threat to his establishment support.

It’s George W. Bush’s former employee — Ted Cruz.
“I just don’t like the guy,” Bush said Sunday night, according to conversations with more than half a dozen donors who attended the event.

One donor in the room said the former president had been offering mostly anodyne accounts of how the Bush family network views the current campaign and charming off-the-cuff jokes, until he launched into Cruz.

“I was like, ‘Holy shit, did he just say that?’” the donor said. “I remember looking around and seeing that other people were also looking around surprised.”

If Trump wins the battle on this one, he can also pin it to Hillary vis-a-vis Bill. The guys on fire.

Why didn’t W fire the guy if he was a total Clintonoide?...he did - Clarke expected to end up in the job Condeleeza Rice got - that's why he's had a chip on his shoulder about Bush since early in 2000 and has bad mouthed him as much as he has....

The guy has flipped on so many issues how does anyone know what he believes in? FR held Romney to account for his flips; Trump never...Trump actually told Fox News yesterday that he intends to be "unpredictable", considers it to be a tactical advantage to have people be unable to know what he will say next in many cases - Romney changes positions - flip-flop - no; Trump changes positions -"brilliant" chess move - si......

I’m not so inclined now to give the Bushies a pass these days.
When W kissed the lips of the Saudi Arabian king, or when his maroon brother Jeb admits this his book:

“Jeb admitted in his own book that ‘leaky’ immigration policy led to 9/11”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3350415/posts

And that these terrorist were visa overstays where Bush continued not to do anything about visa overstays under his administration.

Or when I see articles like this one.

“BUSH AIDES WEIGH LEGALIZING STATUS OF MEXICANS IN U.S. (July 15, 2001)”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3350127/posts

Immigration is an aspect of national security that Bush gets an ‘F’ for effort.

It’s ironic that the Trump haters froth at the mouth when they hear Trump’s name but will happily vote for leftists such as Rubio, Carly, Kasich & Heb.

You have to be joking. Saudi Arabia is one of our biggest enemies, along with Turkey.

Not surprising Matthews loves Trump. There is a reason the MSM is giving Trump so much air time; he is not a conservative.

I am stunned so many FReepers rationalize every Dem talking point and and flip flop the man utters.

Yes a lot of people buy the hype that Trump is a bombastic clown when in fact he is an incredibly smart saavy negotiator who is heads and shoulders above these GOPe quislings running for President.

Its like childsplay to out maneuver the likes of Bush, Rubio, Perry, Paul etc. I don’t think Trump is even breathing hard yet. As soon as Trump is finished with Jeb he will finish off Rubio who is the last of the GOPe horses. Then is will be clear sailing to the nomination. I believe Trump has this all planned out in advance and it only looks spontaneous to the untrained eye.

Yes you are exactly right...and I can’t wait...I’m so excited for not only the nomination, but watch Trump and his beautiful family with Trump taking the oath of office of POTUS....

He is going to be suprior to no one, and his wife is going to be right up there with Jackie Kennedy of being a Lady, and knowing how to refine the graces and mannerisms of a First Lady....since none of that has been done since Jackie...

I could go on all day, and my neighbor just laughs at me, because I only have local news on my T.V. I don’t have cable...and I yell and talk back, and when I’m at her place, she has FNN, she shakes her head and laughs...oh well, the fun we are about to have....I can’t wait!!!!
