Proper archaeology would easily show the wall predates Mohommed and it being a Jewisb site has always been a given, but the politics of the UN could also end up with the wall being labeled as another “contested site”. I think this is the goal.

They are doing it because Netanyahu won't stop Jewish visitors to the mosque from praying at the mosque, or punishing those that do pray at the mosque. It is illegal for Jews to pray there, and the Muz see that as an increment that ultimately ends with the mosque being replaced by a temple.

This why the French govt wants to send "observers" to the mosque.
