Yet another good reason to NOT have neighbors and to be as self-sufficient as you can be Agreed. One reason why so many will die is the big cities will be hit the hardest. Millions of people clamoring for the same basic necessities at the same time, while people who do not live close to the big city and have the necessary supplies on hand to survive for 3-6 months will survive.
