The GOP front-runners will apparently be part of the next Republican debate.

An early-morning tweet from Donald Trump said that CNBC agreed to the demands of both Trump and Ben Carson to keep the debate to two hours including commercials, CNN reported.

*snip*

In addition to the two-hour limit, Trump, in a letter to CNBC's Washington bureau chief, requested that candidates be permitted to speak directly to the camera during opening and closing statements, The Associated Press reported.

His initial popularity probably had to do with his name recognition and the novelty of a non-politician running for President. His continued popularity and support growth stem from his going after the media, the Democrats in a non-politically correct way.

I don’t think Trump went far enough. He, Cruz, Huckabee, Carson could dictate someone like Mark Levin or even Rush Limbaugh as a moderator.

Agree that while fewer people should be on stage, the time should be more evenly distributed. Trump drives ratings—not just in debates, but on any venue in which he appears—but that’s no excuse to give him a disproportionate amount of time.

Trump is the leader bc he took a wrecking ball to PC when nobody else would. Trump not only told the truth, that foreign invaders are raping and murdering Americans, but he put names and faces to the casualties. People tend to forget the firestorm that erupted when Trump dared to speak honestly on this issue. He had many contracts cancelled, he was vilely denounced from a wide range of sources, and even many (iirc, most) of his fellow candidates denounced him.

But he stood firm—and that is what made him the leader. He spoke for the unrepresented majority, he took the slings and arrows, and he didn’t back down.

Contrast that with heading to the border to distribute teddy bears and soccer balls. It will become clear to you why Trump is the leader.

“A preview of his relationship with the RINOs in congress.”

We can hope a President Trump, President Carson, or President Cruz will use the same NSA, FBI, and IRS files against the RINO’s Obama is using now. Otherwise, the GOP House and Senate will behave like it did under George W. Bush - special legislation for favored corporations/banks and a spending binge (earmarks) for all kinds of special interests.

You are right. They should get rid of the under 4 percenters and that will leave more quality time with the rest. In fact, I’d like to see just the top three there and without commercials. Watch them have to talk in detail, because sound bites don’t cut it.

Let’s just move the election up a year and get these guys in the Whitehouse already. It’s time for some adults to be running this country.

“...the debate needs to be longer to let all get a say. I have not watched ANY of the debates and don’t plan on it.”

Then how would you know how long the debate needs to be? Thank you for sharing your uninformed opinion.

The Art of the Donald. What we all would like to see though is a conservative sponsored debate with no leftist overlords in control. How about OAN sponsoring a debate? Something like this is long overdue.

An actual ‘rumor’ found true.
“Mama said there’ll be days like this, mama said”

Another one bites the dust. They just don’t learn do they?

Score another win for Mr. T and Dr. Carson BRAVO!

. Invite only those who have above 5% in a recent national poll.

. . . . .

Push polls by the liberal media and/or the GOPe?

No thanks.

I rationally have looked at Trump and saw he is a con man, self promoting loudmouth that doesn’t really care anything about the American people - and does not have a conservative record.

I agree with [all of] your commentary on Trump. It's refreshing to read. The Donald seems to have taken in a great many people with all his grandiose this and that, but I believe if he should get in, he could be worse than what we've got now.

There were some on here last night supporting the MSM’s position as if they were some legitimate, honorable independent player here.

This election has been most revealing....Watch and remember who’s sayin what folks.

No, he is a self-serving whiner. I’m no fan of NBC, but the debate needs to be longer to let all get a say.

I think you speak out of both sides of your mouth like last night. I think you're likely a party hack.

As you were told last night, nothing new or earth shaking is going to be learned from manipulated debates.

Especially debates run by very biased moderators with their own agendas. The MSM is now a participant in the debates. Everyone knows they're corrupt manipulated and controlled, and it's got one target. The same target who told America most in the media are lie, are biased and corrupt.

And you want these orchestrated political game shows to be longer so these corrupt networks can run more commercials to make more $$ off their target?

You think anyone buys your bull s**t?
