I am a Cruz man but I will admit he has some problem areas this chart doesn’t reveal. He voted for the Corker amendment and his position on work visas leaves much to be desired. This is cause for concern. BUT...even with this he is miles better than his competition if one looks purely to the issues.

I'll post the links only for people who still want to know the facts.

Corker Bill:

Ted Cruz's Record of defending U.S. Sovereignty:

H1B Visa:

Do you know the story behind the H1B visa stuff?

It was in the middle of a battle which Ted Cruz and a few senators fought against the 'Gang of 8' amnesty bill. He offered an amendment to counteract pro-illegal immigration provisions of the amnesty bill.

I, and many people, are grateful that Ted Cruz led this fight. Otherwise, they would have approved amnesty already.

Remember this fight in 2013?

.
The Corker amendment is our salvation.

It will permit Cruz to unilaterally discard the Iran ‘deal’ as his first official action as President.

The Corker amendment is what makes Obama’s actions WRT the ‘deal’ criminal.

I've given up on finding the perfect candidate simply because such a creature does not exist. I look for the one who most closely conforms to my values and beliefs, who has demonstrated a respect for the Constitution and the rule of law, who loves the US and will represent everyone, not just a select few. I happen to think Ted Cruz is the one who fits best in all categories.

The last 2 presidential elections, we have had little to choose from. We now have a good mix of liberals, phony conservatives and real conservatives. We must choose wisely. We need someone to pull us back from the brink. If we continue to reject potentially strong and effective leaders on the basis of one or two issues, we will end up with yet another socialist at the helm. Then all will be lost.

Work visas aren’t really a problem. Anyone who comes here has to pay for our cost of living so it can’t depress wages that much. The big problem is unqualified illegals swarming over the border to not work and get on welfare bennies. And if you want to be protectionist, companies sending jobs overseas is surely much more of a threat to our workers than people coming here with work visas. That allows them to reduce their labor costs much more severely.

If there are enough workers that can be brought in here to do a job, why should our laws try to freeze the amount of workers at a low rate and freeze those wages at an artificially high level? The whole purpose of an economy is to produce goods and services at the LOWEST possible cost. The purpose of production is to serve the consumer, not the worker.

I can’t figure out why everybody is having such a terrible time with the H1-B Visa .. and then I discover that the rule regarding that Visa has been changed.

I firmly believe that Ted associates the H1-B Visa with highly skilled engineers and the like. He’s wanting to import people with highly honed manufacturing skills .. skills that can put America back to work.

Guess I’ll have to discuss with his office to find out the truth .. nobody on FR seems to know it.
