Look at all of the sponsored Trump ‘beatings’ with the pinatas (in tv ads, at promoted events, etc.).

He should make the formal request, and if they turn him down, then he can complain. Does he really think they’re going to just reach out to him and ask him if he needs help?

Trump would do better to beef up his own security. The current SS would only..... Never mind. I’m too afraid to say what I really think.

I think Trump is just using this issue to get earned media.
His own security is probably just as good as SS and certainly more trustworthy.
And I think there is a mechanism under which he can apply for SS protection.
