Very possible, yes.

He’s waffled on it several times—refer to links I posted or do a google/bing search.

There’s plenty of quotes of his that suggest some sort of appeasement.

Chauncey Uppercrust: “Was this a good idea?”

C. Edmund Wright: “Well it was a bit risky, and so far, Cruz’ campaign has been anything but risky.”

If Cruz waits too long though, will Trump have become too solid to move at all? If Trump puts some primary wins on his belt, the hill Cruz must climb will have become steeper.

This may be the best interval for Cruz to strike, as Trump and Carson are not making much headway, and Rubio and Fiorina are running out of momentum and media furnished astroturf. Jeb: (colon intended) is or isn’t going to be appointed so doesn’t matter, the others don’t matter because they are now and will always be insignificant contenders. Now is the time, if Cruz is going to stay in the hunt.

This is the first fun race to watch in many long and dreary cycles, IMO.

“Cruz is bomb thrower which I love but I just think he is hated so much they will sabotage him.

The establishment will sabotage Trump too but he will get the black vote more than anybody and the Hispanics..mark my words!

Either way, I believe without a doubt the GOPe would rather have Hillary than either of these guys.”

I agree here. I will also add that on the points where Trump stands with conservatives, I think he will be more effective than Cruz in romancing the skulls of the people in his way. Cruz would be more able to eloquently and coherently state why the opposition is wrong. Trump will just burn them down and move on to the next item on the agenda.

The alternative Trump is a bigger waffler.

There’s plenty of quotes of his that suggest some sort of appeasement.

Cruz made his position clear in 2014.

All he said to say is “Well, we’ll have to wait to see what the voters say.”

‘liberal celebutard candidate.’

Every time you post hateful things like this, Trump gets another supporter.

Something has been bothering me from jump about Carson. I never really thought about it as he doesn’t seem very much of a real contender. You just put your finger on it though. A vote for the “nice guy” after an acrimonious and ethically controversial administration, and much of the “nice” simply translating into “weak”. That is it. That is what has been troubling.

he could even add, hey if it`s not me I will endorse Ted
Anyone who thinks any serious candidate is going to say that, will believe that Harry Reid would announce, “my campaign is lost!” the way he announced, “This war is lost!” about Iraq.

He does seem condescending and comfortable with that, and that is in no small part what is hurting him.

I just don’t even get why big labor protectionists like you are even supposed to be a Republican constituency? Are you in the AFL-CIO? Do you really vote Republican ever?

"Every time you post hateful things like this, Trump gets another supporter."

You expect people to roll over when a true conservative gets ripped on a conservative site--because TRUMP? Think again.

I really wouldn't be surprised if that's all it takes for some to support Trump. Believe me, I wouldn't.

Yeah, you outlined where we are. That is precisely the calculus. FYI I was told - on very good authority - that around debate 4 Cruz was going to get more aggressive. I responded that debate 3 would be better. Maybe he's moved up that time table. Or maybe he sees a little opening with Kelo comments, etc. Or it could be just a comment....

I’ve been wrong before, too. And possibly am now as to Trump being able to stay away from the business. At any rate, I apologize for the choice of words.

All I have to go on is Trump’s word. Early in the campaign; perhaps in the second week after his formal announcement, he did an interview sitting in Trump Tower.

He was asked by the scribe, how he could walk away from his businesses. To which Trump replied, Because making America great again is more important than my businesses. In another interview, he very briefly touched on it by saying there’s no real thrill in making another dollar. At his age, he’s made enough. The Country is much more important. The world that’s left to his progeny is much more important.

Yes, he’s a Type-A. But don’t you think that overseeing the myriad things to be done to salvage our Nation will be enough to keep him from being bored?

There are several “other sides” to the coin, too. One, that would be obvious to me, would be that, since he’s turned the Trump Brand over to his 3 elder children, each of whom is a duly installed officer in the corporation, I think they would not be happy if there was a lot of second guessing and micro managing by Dad.

The other is that these two straight arrow, ramrod men, and this beautiful, very capable woman, are perfectly qualified and able to run the corporation on their own.

The Trump Brand website introduces all three, with each describing their childhood working, their fitting into a particular slot in the corporation, and what they do now. For instance, IIRC, Eric is in charge of acquisitions and development. In the video he talks about trips to South America as part of his duties.

Ivanka is in charge of the Trump Image. She oversees styles, decor, furnishings, what’s visible to the public in general, and the paying clientele in particular.

I think Trump, as an exceptional manager, had all these bases covered before he announced.

And again, I apologize for the choice of words. Happy trails.

Like with the other Senators in the race, I had hoped Ted Cruz wanted the job he ran for and got.

I thought we could use someone like him in the Senate, which was why I contributed to his campaign at the time.

If I had known he just wanted to be Senator as a resume enhancement in order to run for POTUS, I probably would have donated that money to the Salvation Army instead.

My preference is for hopeful Governors and Senators who finish what they put on their plate first before they run for dessert.
