Sen. Ted Cruz said Thursday that he doesnt think that Donald Trump will capture the 2016 GOP presidential nomination and predicted that it is only a matter of time before most of the New York billionaires supporters will move into his camp. During an appearance on WABC-AM Radio, host Rita Cosby asked Mr. Cruz whether he would eventually move past Mr. Trump based on his conservative principles, and the Texas Republcian said I think thats right. In time, I dont believe Donald is going to be the nominee, and I think in time the lions share of his supporters end up with us, Mr. Cruz said. Mr. Trump has tangled with most of the candidates running for the Republican presidential nomination and has touted how some of his rivals have sunk in the polls after attacking him. But he has not traded barbs with Mr. Cruz, who has been Mr. Trumps biggest ally in the crowded GOP field. In the WABC-AM interview, Mr. Cruz continued to praise Mr. Trump, saying he liked and respected Donald. Mr. Cruz said Mr. Trump has boosted his candidacy and his chance of becoming the partys standard-bearer. I think his involvement has been tremendously helpful to my campaign because it has framed the central question of the primary as: Who will stand up to Washington? Mr. Cruz said. And if thats the central question, the natural next question, that any voter will ask is okay, well who actually has stood up to Washington? Who has a record in that regard? The Cruz campaign also announced Thursday that he will report raising $12.2 million over the last three months exceeding the hauls of fellow Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, who plans to report $6 million, and Rand Paul of Kentucky, who raised $2.5 million.

You and me both
74 years old seems like a long reach from here for me
This is really not smart, of Cruz....screams desparation.
Someone had posted, a couple of times over the past days that Cruz was asked by the Trump campaign to please stop using Make America Great Again.
I thought that was kind of bizarre....but then at today’s Vegas rally, Trump mentioned that other candidates were using his slogan and they had to ask them to stop....something like that.
So....something is not right, here. If anyone has info on this, please let us know.
The stuff dreams are made of.
Can you imagine a government that doesn’t fill you with fear and dread?
I hope I live to see a day that our reps actually represent Americans instead of shitting all over us for a few dollars.
LOLOL.... ;-)
If Trump acknowledges this ‘negative’ statement by Cruz, but doesn’t counterattack in the same way he counterattacks everyone else, then Trump and Cruz are in league with one another.
What an odd thing for another candidate to suggest...
Reputable source and poster ... hmmmm
Shazaam!
That was a really stupid thing to say, Senator Cruz.
Especially after acknowledging that Trump boosted your campaign.
Ingratitude, hubris and arrogance—the political trifecta.
Let’s hope he walks this back ASAP.
i honestly don’t think Cruz can win. He’s not a street fighter and that’s what it’s going to take. If Trump goes, it all goes right down the toilet.
+1
Maybe Trump will tell Cruz that he won’t be the nominee.
I think a lot of the comments on this thread are showing a misperception of what Ted Cruz said. Cruz did NOT attack Trump or try to pick a fight with him. On the contrary, he said nice things about Trump from what I read.
Trump and Cruz, as well as their campaigns, need to keep their entente going. It’s working well for BOTH of them.
Since TPP is here, let’s hear Ted explain his vote for TPA that enabled it.
Or his vote for Corker, enabling Iran? (And then making speeches about it to the opposite)
Club For Growth?
Koch Brothers?
Goldman Sachs?
Cruz has been unable to connect with the voters. And he won’t get the Trump voters. Trump will be able to get more Dem voters in the general election than any other Rep candidate.
I don't know why you would think that. Trump was major supporter of Rep. Charlie Rangel. Then there's his support of Harry Reid..
Political corruption didn't seem to be much of a problem to him. But, maybe he's changed.
:)
“Ted Cruz says Donald Trump wont be Republican nominee”
Cruz is auditioning to be a Fox News talking head after his defeat in the race.
Nothing to see here. Just another idiot who thinks he can predict the future.
Cruz said he doesn’t think Trump will be the nominee. That to me is betrayal. Trump has been great to Cruz but I don’t think he’s going to like this little forecast. I don’t like it.
I hate seeing this :-(
IMO Trump is Ted Cruz’s ticket to the presidency.
Cruz needs to run with Trump and not against him!
They need to be a TEAM!
They compliment each other, the sum of the two creates the package that can save this country.
p.s. BlackFemaleArmyCaptain, I have been enjoying your posts and comments here on FR
What’s Trump going to say? “Cruz is wrong. I will be the nominee.” I would hope he’d say something like this of else he’s wasting a lot of people’s time, effort, and money.
Perhaps that explains why he is leading in the number of small donors!
The trumpeters sure seem a little testy tonight!
Yogi? I thought you were dead.
