Two hours? Hell, it pretty much takes me less than 20 minutes to complete the transaction, unless the place is busy. I have a unique last name, shared with fewer than 20 people nation-wide. They don’t even need my SSN on the form.

SSN isn’t required, but supposedly helps to speed up the process. You’re fortunate if because of your unique last name the process goes quick for you. Some people I know get delayed every single purchase. Evidently there is an NICS PIN# a person can apply for which make the check instant. I don’t know anyone who’s gone through that process though.
