This is why every piece of equipment is counted before and after surgery. You’d be surprised what gets left in there.

Also, something to consider, malpractice suits are brought almost as a matter of course, every MD/DMD/OD any doctor has had at least one brought against them. Quite frankly 6 is a kind of low number (given the literally thousands of pts he’s operated on in his career).

All of this is not meant to excuse leaving a sponge in someone’s brain nor am I saying the 6 malpractice suits aren’t genuine.

I like Dr. Carson, however I am not a supporter for his campaign. This is a disgusting hit piece. The bad outcome is usually prior to the patients arrival for surgery. I'll bounce this one around a few Neurosurgery friends.

I do not endorse him for president, however this is a cheap shot. He is recognized as one of the top brain surgeons in the world, accepted cases that no one else would operate on and pioneered new techniques that saved countless live.
