Senator Ted Cruz of Texas got an early start to the 2016 presidential campaign in March by being the first of what would become a vast field to announce his candidacy. Now, he has turned that starting advantage into a sprawling ground game.
For every county in the first four voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, the Cruz campaign has locked down county chairs in charge of not just lending their names to the campaign, but of spearheading outreach and organizing efforts.
The only way we will turn our country around is through a grass-roots uprising of the American people, and Im grateful for the many courageous conservatives in the early states who have stepped forward to lead that grass-roots movement, Mr. Cruz said in a statement on Tuesday.
The focus on the ground game should come as no surprise, as the Cruz campaign has been heavily focused on building leadership teams, including in the United States Virgin Islands, and even sending operatives as far as Guam and Samoa to look for potential support. It has also focused on building issue-based teams in the early states, such as their 99 Iowa Pastors initiative, which seeks to tap into the networks to build more grass-roots support.
The large list of county chairs further emphasized the conservative grass-roots support that has followed Mr. Cruz since his announcement, with small-dollar fund-raisers powering his $10 million haul in the second quarter.
The campaign has not released their numbers for the latest quarter, however.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
I think he’s the closest thing we have seen to Ronald Reagan in many years.
Good for you, John!
PING
Caruz Amasses ground game in 4 states
GO CRUZ!
For many reasons, I think the notion of these "ground games" is suspect, and the latest "ground game" casualty is Scott Walker, who supposedly had a massive "ground game" in one state and couldn't do squat. We'll see.
I think it will be Trump, Carson, Cruz, then Rubio, but #2,3,4 will have a total of maybe 200 delegates between them and Trump will have the rest.
You mean like the Town Halls Trump holds-—that draw 2000 people? The only difference between Trump’s “grass roots campaign” and Cruz’s is that Trump gets 10 times the people.
Ted Cruz REMAINS the only true Conservative in this race.
Ted Cruz won’t get above 12%
And Donald trump’s progressive butt will get us president Sanders.
I WILL NOT EVER VOTE FOR THAT LYING DEMOCRAT SCUMBAG DONALD TRUMP.
Ground game and money. Sounds like someone who’s in for the long haul.
But the media is desperate to have you believe otherwise.
EXACTLY!!!
Plus the occasional media appearance.
The race is a marathon and we are a long way from the first vote being counted,
*************
Long way........
I guess that is open to one’s meaning. We are less than 4 months from the first primary month
with 133 bound delegates. In the fifth month there are over 1200 bound delegates
selected. So once this begins on Feb. 1, 2016 things will happen quickly.
Does anyone know how much hard money Cruz raised in the third quarter? He never released that total. His campaign spokesman won’t say either.
They will release the number soon enough. What I know is that his campaign has more than 350,000 small donors.
Ok great, thanks.
While the others play jacks, Cruz is playing chess...
Like a BOSS.
Maybe thr ‘Community Organizer in Chief’ can take a few pointers from Cruz... to get the WH in hand and his administration on track
