Two elementary schools in the Edina Public Schools district in Minnesota have spent $30,000 to hire recess consultants in order to make kids playtime more inclusive.
The two schools, Concord and Normandale Elementary, are receiving guidance from a firm called Playworks on how to avoid recess-time tragedies like a kid getting his feelings hurt, according to an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
One of the aims of the firm is to banish potentially traumatizing phrases such as Hey, youre out and instead use good job or nice try. After all, ceaseless affirmation of their perfection is all that snowflakes this special deserve to hear.
Of course, just suggesting these kinds of changes wouldnt be enough. Thats why Playworks also organizes recess-time activities, such as foursquare and jump rope, that are overseen by adults and designed to reduce disciplinary problems while ensuring no children are left out, according to the Star Tribune.
A lot of parents perhaps having hoped that their kids would be learning the skills they need to function in the real world during school have said that theyre not happy about the adult-structured playtime. Still, Normandale Elementary principal Chris Holden has insisted that the program is a good thing for the kids, because fewer of them have been called to the principals office after recess since its started.
I dont doubt that at all. After all, what with the constant correction and micromanaging of kids social interactions, Playworks effectively turns the playground into the principals office which would definitely result in fewer reasons to go.
School officials say they are currently considering implementing the program district-wide.
Oh. My. God.
God, I hate liberals.
Kooooombayaaaaahhhhh
Then people wonder why these snowflakes shoot up a school when they get a C-minus.
Another disaster to thank Hillary! for.
When I am Emporer my first act will be to order every single public school razed to the ground and the members of every public school board driven into exile.
Then I shall turn my attention to anyone who was ever employed by the Dept of Education.

Red Rover and Murder Ball were the highlights of my elementary recess.
That and playing on an oyster shell playground.
They do not care what harm they do. I am beginning to believe this is more about funding leftists and their political network than even about brainwashing children.
Does any adult say to arguing children: “Settle it among yourselves”? I heard that so much as a kid.
Jumping out of the swings.
Probably get expelled for that now, if there are any swings left.
So, in MN they’re still having dodge ball?
I thought that was banned in and of itself because it might hurt someone physically as well as emotionally.
Then I shall turn my attention to anyone who was ever employed by the Dept of Education.
"Guns don't kill people, people kill people!"
"School buildings don't create mushy minded liberals, Liberals do!"
Yes. That’s part of the plan.
Switching from baseballs to softballs took almost all of the fun out of playing Dodge Ball.
And almost as bad, they have to have safe zones and trigger alerts.
It was great fun, every one would play, and as you got older, you would play even more. The entire school annual budget was far less than $30K, and we all seemed to grow up quite to be quite normal.
I grew up in the 1970s and early 1980s
I used jump off the handbars off the swings
How did I live through out of that that so called danger LOL!
That is a great start!
My Wife uses the phrase; “you guys figure it out”...
"Good job" would ring hollow for a batter or base runner who is out, and "nice try" is usually an insult.
