“Sure sounded like he was all for Eminent Domain if the taking created jobs and revenue.”

The state cut a wide swath through my grandpa’s pasture (along with many others) for a highway. Did not pay him anything. Broke up his property. What is the difference? They both involve “the public good”. Eminent Domain is the least attractive concept in the Constitution, but maybe necessary.

Often necessary, but only for a "public purpose" -- a category that never should include private real estate development, a/k/a crony capitalism.
