Thanks for bringing her to my attention - I don't follow British politics as closely as I should, so I had never heard of May or her views. It's good to know that there's someone with some spine left in the British Conservative Party (now if only we'd find some among US Republicans). Sometimes it seems that what the Tories really need is a resurrected Enoch Powell, though my guess is that anyone like him would probably just give up and join the BNP at this point.

That seems to be the problem everywhere in Europe. "Respectable" conservatives (Tories in the UK, Christian Democrats in Germany) are usually spineless, mealy-mouthed cowards that have been cowed into submissive political correctness, very much like the Republican Party in the US. Unfortunately, the only alternatives on the Right are parties that are overrun with football hooligans and skinheads.

On the Continent, they're more sophisticated, they have hair, they're well-dressed, they're educated, they're articulate, which is why they get elected to parliaments and are considered respectable eg. in Austria the FPÖ (The Freedom Party of Austria) in Sweden the Sverigedemokraterna (The Swedish Democrats)in France Le Front national (The National Front)in Denmark the Dansk Folkeparti (The Danish Peoples Party) in Poland the Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (The Law and Justice Party). The fight-back most certainly won't come from wishy-washy Britain, the fight-back will come from the Continent.
