Senate Democrats are saddling up for another gun-control push in response to the shooting at Umpqua Community College. Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) announced Monday that he is reaching out to Democratic senators on moving background checks legislation.
If we dont take action, we are equally responsible for innocent deaths as the sick individuals who plot and carry out these horrific measures, Reid declared Monday on the Senate floor. One thing is clear: To pass background checks, we need Republicans to stop acting as puppets of the NRA.

As senate majority leader, Reid killed the AWB the last time it came up so, yeah, it did pay off.
you were wrong and you still are but don’t ever let that stop you from hating the only group that has done a GD thing to thwart Obama.
One eyed Harry should be pushing to ban, uh, “exercise equipment.”
I’m working on my endowment membership and just sent the ILA a check.
It worked out great in 2013 when Harry Reid personally killed the AWB.
I would guess the Democrats goal is to make it so hard to get a gun that people won't make the investment or endure the effort. Kind of like getting a "permit" for a full auto today.
This photo brought joy again to my day!
I prefer to think he took his complaints to Clint Eastwood, who "made his day!"
Thanks!!!
I am a member of the Montana Shooting Sports Association and contribute to them financially. They are the group that fights for my gun rights in my state. Much more bang for my buck.
“we are equally responsible”
No. Individual responsibility rests with the man.
“The public essentially said, who cares, I am too wrapped up in whatever entertains me. When they come after the guns in earnest, it will be the same thing.”

Roger that, you are not alone my friend, I said adios after hearing of them supporting this cretin. They are part of the K Street slop peddlers that the all the little piggies are feeding on...
the MSSA didn’t kill the 2013 AWB, Harry Reid did. You might keep that in mind while you bad mouth the NRA for putting him in their pocket.
Doesn’t have to be asked: it has been shown.
This the ONE thing that there WILL be HUGE push back on, even in VERY LIBERAL states except CA. the citizenry LOVE their guns, many many hunters in places such as Oregon, Washinton, Colorado I do not believe people will stand for ANY MORE gun control!!!!!!
Man, I will take all the good news that I can get.
Love it!
I figure old McWeasal will sell out hook line and sinker he probably won’t run again for his cushy job and has shown he could care less about the country, the people he represents or the Bill of Rights. What happens when you have massive non-compliance with their foolishness. Even if it is 5% of the population or less are you going to jail several million people? Where? For how long?
So, they try thwarting Barry on one hand while endorsing Reid, who has done everything - and has been in the position to - get most of Barry’s (and the left’s) extreme left policies and programs passed?
How is that productive? How does that support Conservatives?
Sorry, NRA is a single issue group that lost credibility with thousands of us in 2010.
I am not wrong, and the NRA is HARDLY “the only” group that has done anything to thwart Barry.
Good luck with that one Dingy. The GOP leadership is stupid but not that stupid. They don’t mind getting flamed on their FB pages but they don’t to be hung from a lamppost on Pennsylvania Ave.
You got that right and in order to enforce that universal background check they would have to institute national gun registration. Which is what they are really after. You can’t confiscate what you don’t know about.
