Bernie isn’t marketable and neither is hard socialism. Obama won on hopey-changey platitudes and cause he’s a “cool Black guy” (and Blacks came out for him).
Bernie is a freaky looking White-haired kook from Vermont. I don’t think he gets many votes beyond the “always dem” vote which is not (yet) over 50%. I have a lot of trouble seeing him win unless our nominee Fs up big time.
And dem power brokers know this and for that reason I can’t see him being allowed to win the nomination.
I don’t think Bernie is selling “hard” Socialism.
He is selling a very robust package of social benefits exactly like what they have in Europe (long mandated paid vacations, paid maternity leaves, tuition-free college, healthcare-for-all, high minimum wage, etc.)
We all know this is economic sophistry but the young skulls o’ mush look at that and think “if it’s good enough for France and Denmark, why not right here in the GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH?”
