Real estate tycoon Donald Trump insisted Tuesday that he was nowhere near ending his 2016 White House bid, despite slipping a bit in some polls.
"Why would I get out?" Trump asked, pointing out that he is still leading polls for the Republican presidential nomination. "I'm not going anywhere."
Trump has suggested in several interviews that he may end his White House bid if he dropped into the low single digits, like several other candidates in the field.
"The media is so dishonest, it's so disgusting," Trump said of how his remarks were interpreted in coverage of his campaign. "I'm not getting out. I'm going to win."
Immediately following the interview, Trump retweeted two supporters who called CNNs Chris Cuomo and his questions pathetic.
"@LindaRicker6: My choice @realDonaldTrump just finished a great interview on CNN. Pathetic questions from Cuomo but Trump cleared the air."— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 6, 2015
"@Lisa_Steen: seriously Cuomo hates DonaldTrump he was a pathetic interviewer AS USUAL! Please don't go anywhere Mr Trump AMERICA NEEDS YOU"— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 6, 2015
Trump, who has led in the polls for more than two months, saw his lead shrink in the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire in polling released Sunday.
The businessman saw his 16-point lead over his nearest rival get cut to 5 points in New Hampshire, according to NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polling.
He is also leading by just 5 points in Iowa, besting neurosurgeon Ben Carson there 24 to 19 percent, compared to a 7-point lead last month.
For some reason I smell Karl Rove behind this latest BS strategy to bring down Trump.
Its amazing how times have changed. I never thought I would be supporting Trump.
Oh and Good Morning Dear Lady. :)
LOLOLOL.
You’re right.
WOW! You know what? I hadn’t thought of Rove, but smart you are likely right.
Rove has been truly nasty about him and Rove never fails to mention him!
Trump was actually taking a shot at some like Lindsey Graham and George Pataki who continue to stay in the race and take up debate time despite having no chance whatsoever.
Of course Trump is never going down to 1 or 2 percent.
But the media took it and spun it to mean that if Trump goes down even a little bit in the polls, he should drop out. Not going to happen.
MESSAGE TO DONALD: DON'T FALL FOR IT!
It works for Leftists--people of shallow minds, intellect, and morality. They're convinced by repetition. Stupid people usually are.
The treasonists are frothing at the mouth for him to drop out, the slightest gust of wind and it’s “OMG OMG is he dropping out? Is he dropping out?” Meanwhile one criminal revelation after another after another comes out about Hitlery and they can’t push this bitch enough “Oh she is the front runner! She is the front runner!”
Hey, dearest you, Clyde5445!
You and me both! Truth be told, I never once watched his TV show! The Apprentice, I think it was called. NEVER once watched it!
The only time I would see (or hear) Donald Trump was on Fox News when he would talk to Greta or the Fox ‘n Friends.
My daughter from the Cayman’s would bump into him at his NYC Trump Tower because she and her rich GF would stay there when they went shopping in NYC, and she would tell me about her conversations with him and whichever family member was with him at the time. I remember he was always extremely nice to her and always engage her in conversations. She would be in the same elevator with him. I know this happened to her at least 3 times.
I want Trump to stay and ME GYN to continue to bleed from wherever. Let Will, Hume, Wallace, and Kraut’s heads explode. Rinos, hate Trump, try to ignore Cruz like he doesn’t exist.
Meanwhile pansy boy Rubio is given a pass for not even being able to handle his own personal finances, show up to work and make key votes like Planned Parenthood.
They ignore Carly’s amnesty, and abortion flip flops, catty insults on Sen. Boxers looks. They ignore Carly’s failures at Lucent and HP.
If someone should drop out its Christie, Paul, Jeb, Linda, Pataki, Jindal, and all the other 3% or less candidates.
Time to whittle this field to the people who are above 3 percent.
Trump is the leader of the pack, with high name recognition, and lots of campaign cash. Trump is the one proposing in detail , Tax plans, gun agenda, immigration reform, health care reform. Why call for the person with THE MOST PUBLIC SUPPORT TO DROP OUT. It doesn’t make sense.
Yep, you’re right. If Trump exits, I’m done unless Cruz sails to the top.
Right, and they’re attempting that trick right now.
NOT going to work.
I's still sending money to my candidate, the tatted one...
I did, however, buy a "Make America Great" red hat, shirt and bumper sticker, so maybe I can see how some people "go both ways":) :)
ROTFLOLOLOL.
Isn’t that the truth?
I have already taken to muting my TV whenever news about Hillary appears on the screen.
I see a demonic-rat face and “click mute.”
Everything they utter is altogether predictable.
NO THANKS!
Media: “Are you going to quit?”:
Trump: “No, I’m in it to win, and I’m winning.”
Media: “But are you considering it?”
Trump: “No.”
Media: “But is there any situation that could possibly make you consider quitting?”
Trump: “Well of course if somehow the polls showed I was down to 1% I would have to think about it. I’m not going to hang around if nobody is supporting me like some of my opponents. I’m not a masochist.”
HEADLINE: Trump Ponders Dropping Out of Race!
I sent Cruz $150.
I have bought 3 "Make America Great Again" baseball hats: Camouflage, blue and black.
The question I have is, what if they become a tag-team?
