In a staggering twist of logic, the father of Umpqua Community College killer Christopher Harper-Mercer is blaming guns, rather than his son, for the bloody killing spree that ended with nine innocent people dead.
In an interview with CNN, Ian Mercer claims he doesn’t blame guns, then spends much of the interview refuting that assertion. Mercer does not indicate that he believes his son was solely responsible for the massacre.
"That's what guns are," he stated. "The killers. It's as simple as that. It's black and white."

The father says that his son is not responsible for his actions. Guns supposedly made him single out Christians to kill.

So if his son had run down a bunch of people with his car, Mercer would have blamed the availability of automobiles. Got it.
What is black and white is that the BLACK MOTHER of his mentally ill son bought most, if not all, of the guns used by his mentally ill son in the shooting.
Shooter’s absentee papa needs to lawyer up and shut his mouth.
It could we be that some of his money was used to buy the guns.
If his son had sliced someone to death with a butcher knife he would have blamed the availability of knives. If his son had bashed someone over the head with a rock he would have blamed the availability of rocks.
He’s the sperm donor, not the father. He abandoned him at birth.
You know, I’ll be that people would be a lot better behaved, and a world a much nicer place, without all of that dangerous stuff lying around.
I guess it perturbs him to no end to be brought back into the picture under these circumstances.
Your son, who could be BARACK OBAMA’s son, was the reason 9 people died. He was a fiendish killer who was a monster. He would have poisoned people with antifreeze if that is what it took to kill people. He would have made a pressure cooker bomb if he couldn’t get antifreeze.

Typical. Also typically, I have seen little mention of the fact that the killer was half black.
I blame the father for having a stupid child!
That’s why I keep my little bastards locked up. Every time I take them out of the cabinet they want to go out to the range and wreak havoc. I do have a couple that seem fairly tame that I can keep under my bed or other places. I rue the day when they figure out how to escape and come after me. I have heard the scratching on the cabinet door. It is starting to drive me insane. Those guns will be the death of us all.
Gee, mine must be defective then. My six handguns, three shotguns, two rifles, along with nearly a dozen guns that I have traded away, all have a combined death toll less than Ted Kennedy's car.
