“screening students entering a school building would have stopped this killer.”
Or maybe he would have just shot the surprised guard first.
Something like this: http://youtu.be/rAzUi0YCOjc
“Even allowing students to carry, unless they are highly trained, might result in mayhem. Can you imagine a dozen or more students firing in different directions in the same room? Guns in the hands of novices or those uninterested in obtaining the proper training could cause more harm than good.”
I agree here. Police in big cities go through (VERY expensive) shoot/no-shoot training and expend who knows how many bullets practicing and they still make mistakes (as will any human in a life-or-death situation). It’s a room full of people. What if you miss? What if you actually get the perp and the bullet goes through them and hits someone else? Maybe someone else in the next room?
What’s needed here is a little bit of “panic training” for people. In our daily lives most of us face darned few life or death situations. It’s hard for me to believe that people just took it and got killed in that situation (one didn’t, ex-military - but he wasn’t enough).
I wonder what they do in Israel for civilian training.
Also, with the wars against the evil bastards in the middle east for decades, we have a lot of trained former military teachers, who are trained to handle weapons in a bad situations.
Captain Obvious makes another grand declaration? wow..
Imagine what the combat vet, who got shot 7 times trying to get to the shooter, could have done with a gun.
Can you imagine a dozen or more students firing into the perp at the same time?
If all the screeners were armed (with real guns.)
Whatever. Enough of this liberal Clinton lover already!
Silly, you. We shouldn’t have these huge dehumanizing “group think” factories anyhow and allow strangers to brainwash our children with Billy Ayers/Zinn (Marxist) curricula-—we don’t need this antiquated system of mass indoctrination.
And ALL people should be able to defend themselves and others (like in Switzerland-—all should be issued guns and learn to use them-—
All children should have to learn how to safely handle guns and use them. It is a Real Life skill and in today’s world, it is necessary for survival and self-defense since we are allowing all these fatherless feral kids to roam free.
Do you honestly “think” that Lincoln wouldn’t have been able to handle someone trying to shoot him in the classroom???? Not that he went to one-—for more than a month in his lifetime-——But REALLY-——people are killing people because these children were raised outside the Natural Family and Virtue and God are eliminated from all curricula now.... as all behaviors and attitudes are learned and practiced (embedded). This boy was not parented-—or taught to be a virtuous functioning adult.
This “shooter” had no loving father and mother who gave a da*n about him-—and so they become haters (of self/God) and take it out on everyone else.
Virtue is learned-—and without Virtue, civil society collapses.
Hannity keeps insisting that each school should have an armed guard. He is not comfortable with teachers having CCWs. That is not intelligent but fits in with his total lack of understanding of the 2nd Amd. It would be more expensive and would set the armed guard up to be the first dead body in an attack. The glory seeker knows there is only one armed person and knows who he is.
thanks for sharing
Even with all the uncertainty, it also heightens the uncertainty level for the attacker too. The point is that fewer people will even WANT to attack a fortified school, as much as that there is a good chance to defend that school if in spite of all an attack happens.
Why did the vet obey? He had the right idea. The fact that he stood down indicates that he was not really cherishing the idea of facing the bad guy and was glad of an excuse. If so he should have kept his mouth shut.
People prayed to the Lord for years for help. The politicians with the good ideas had no power, and the politicians with the power had no good ideas.
The Lord raised up Donald Trump.
People said Lord, Donald Trump is not what we had in mind, could you please give us a do-over?
And God is like, SMHIH (shaking My head in heaven).
That happens a lot, on the Trump threads. These supposed Cruz - or other candidates - supporters primarily seem attracted to Trump threads where they bash EVERY single thing he says, or does.
Funny how they just can’t stay away from the Trump threads....it’s like an addiction, or something.
If their candidate is so wonderful, you’d think they’d stay on those threads singing his/her praises.
I don’t see Trump supporters going on to the Cruz threads bashing Cruz, obsessively (like a few *other candidate* folks do on Trump threads). Makes ya wonder if they really have a dog in this hunt.
allow me to direct your attention to another post which apparently expressed the same sense to this matter
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3344712/posts?page=3#3
the poster “stated” duh
the difference between posting the single word...DUCH....and calling the would be candidate from NYC Captain Obvious..... is merely STYLISTIC
and do please at least try to maintain a modicum of decorum and a civil tongue in your head..if your able.
DUH
The really weird thing is that there is a LOT of room for cooperation of Trump and “conventional conservatives.” Trump is not a hard sell on a genuinely good idea, and this is a prime example of it.
Mocking about “Captain Obvious” is being carried out in tandem with pissing and moaning over the perversity of the Obamaist crowd, with scarcely a sense of irony.
The old story of how God sent a 4x4 truck, a boat, and a helicopter (each in turn refused) to the flood besieged man who was sure that God would save him, comes to mind.
Irony deficient blood?
