KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) Confusion reigned in the wake of the deadly bombing Saturday of a hospital compound in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz that killed at least 19 people and wounded dozens more. It remains unclear exactly who bombed the hospital run by Doctors Without Borders and the international medical charity has demanded an investigation into the incident.
Doctors Without Borders said that "all indications" pointed to the international military coalition as responsible for the bombing and called for an independent investigation. U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said an inquiry was underway into whether the carnage at the clinic was caused by an airstrike from an American fighter jet, while Afghan officials said helicopter gunships had returned fire from Taliban fighters hiding in the compound.
Afghan forces backed by U.S. airstrikes have been battling the Taliban street-by-street in Kunduz since Thursday to dislodge insurgents who seized the strategic city three days earlier in their biggest foray into a major urban area since the U.S.-led invasion of 2001. The insurgents have had the city encircled for months, and overran it in a surprise assault that embarrassed the U.S.-backed Afghan government and called into question the competence of the U.S.-funded Afghan armed forces.

Was it "I'm good a killing people."
To bad it ain't the terrorist people.
Bush’s fault.
The media dubbed Reagan the “Teflon president,” but they have made Obama his heir.
Let’s just IMAGINE the headlines if the Bush Administration mistakenly took out a Doctors Without Borders clinic. The heart-tugging interviews with survivors and poignant reminiscences of the victims would have gone on for WEEKS.
Thanks, Barack!
They know exactly what happened and who fired especially if this was an airstrike. This is a stupid delay game they’re playing.
I’m curious as to how this is being portrayed in the American media?
In Britain yesterday, the media didn’t know what to report, I expect they were waiting for the memo to be sent from the White House telling them what to say.
It’s rather extraordinary, the day before they were all screaming about Putin “not targeting ISIS, and civilians being killed” that was the memo.
Then this outrageous bombing of Doctors Without Borders landed and they were all scrambling on what to report.
Without any proof from legitimate sources, they had no problem trashing Putin.
It “remains unclear”?
It was clear yesterday.
Who is doing the bombing in Iraq?
Oh, right. O’bummer.
O’b ummer need to put down the shovel
If I were FSB and had infiltrated the CIA, I would feed the DoD bad targeting info right after Obama mouths off about Russia using dumb bombs. Just saying.
And Bill Clinton bombed a powdered milk factory.
Affirmative, weapons were released at the specific direct order of the CIC. However, I wonder who the designated scapegoat is, his life is over.
NO civilian, in his right mind, would go to Afghanistan. There is nothing there, no water, little arable land, no stable government.
There are continual feuds, over water, land, money, families, women, animals, anything. They are a land-locked country with NOTHING, absolutely nothing.
Excellent points. Nor did Mr. Obama even hesitate to take to the air in a national broadcast for his political gun control diatribe, while the bodies in Oregon were still on scene.
That’s how low he is, he played politics again with a tragedy. He’s beneath contempt and I believe is actually evil.
Media Take: “Obama CAN’T be responsible! He was on the golf course the whole time!”
Obama says that he wants to wait for an internal investigation LOL Okie Dokie..now THIS he doesn’t want to politicize but I do, Obama murdered 16 doctors yet this is the same guy that wants to take away MY rights to have a gun..gun is not OK but blowing up docs is A OK
Add in the fact that this strike was made in an operation fighting a resurgent and advancing Taliban, Obama’s failures are so numerous and complete, it’s stunning how assiduously the media avoids them.
When was this? I was born in 1990, so I have no recollection of the Clinton years, except hearing about the obvious things.
