So what's the point of the Halloween theme -- that we can prove these demonic entities of evil and fear are of no power by having a pageant featuring them?

I guess it matters how the pageant concludes. Why not something looking forward to All Saints Day like stained glass cookies. It even uses hard candies which should be plentiful among the treats....
