"Joshua said to them, Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous. This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are going to fight."

Post-tribs say that pre-tribs are looking for a painless way out, and they correctly indicate that believers in other countries are experiencing lots of tribulation right now (although sadly it is happening more in the US now as well). But the word of God clearly directs us to be ready for an imminent advent. That means nothing else has to happen first. If the Lord tarries we need to be ready for bad times. Imminent does not have to mean tomorrow. (But it could!)

The simple fact is this.....we ought to live our lives as if each day may be the last ... for so it may be.

Jesus clearly gives the timing of events in Mat 24
Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you; and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day. 21 For then shall be great tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortended
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of the heaven shall be shaken. 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Thank you for this reminder. God has NOT appointed us unto wrath. It only makes sense - and there are plenty of Scripture passages that support it - that the Bride of Christ is taken out before the Tribulation begins. Its terribleness should spur us to preach the Gospel to all those God brings into our lives as the time IS short.

Ya, Jesus could come back next year. What if the Nazis come next week? Their kind have come many many times over millennia. Generations have suffered, and Jesus never came. I'm not going to live my life hoping on a vague prophecy of salvation. If I have to pledge allegiance to anything it is to an observant state of mind and to common sense. Fear is a subjective state of mind and I hate feeling like that. Reject clicheic dogma and stay objective. I see trouble coming. It would be nice if I didn't have to go through it, but I am buying storable food, guns, ammo, keeping hard cash and moving OUT OF THE CITY.

The tribulation happened between 67 and 70 AD (the last half week of Daniel) under Nero, and ended with the destruction of the Temple. This marked the “End of the Age”(of Israel) and ushered in the “Age to Come” (of the Church) - thus, the end of the Old Covenant and the full institution of the New Covenant.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. - Matt. 6:34

believers in other countries are experiencing lots of tribulation right now Those believers are suffering because other sinful humans are persecuting them. We're all suffering because of being in a fallen, sinful world. But the suffering that will occur during the Tribulation is different. That will be God's wrath. Some say God will not subject His children to HIS wrath. I hope they're right!

I am stockpiling Jesus for the Tribulation, which must happen before the return of the Lord as shown clearly in the Word of God.

God has NOT appointed us unto wrath.Makes me wonder just WHO will be getting their heads chopped off.
...there are plenty of Scripture passages that ...
..show that believers get all kinds of nasty things done to them!
Revelation 20:4
And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God.
Hebrews 11:36-38
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

That’s all you have to contribute Elsie? I like your sarcasm, but sometimes it would be nice to see a more significant side.
