Chris Harper Mercer, the man identified as the gunman in the deadly rampage at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore., on Thursday, was a withdrawn young man who neighbors said wore the same outfit every day combat boots, green Army pants and a white T-shirt and was close to his mother, who fiercely protected him.
Neighbors in Winchester, Ore., and Torrance, Calif., where Mr. Mercer, 26, lived with his mother, Laurel Harper, remember a reclusive and seemingly fragile young man with a shaved head and dark glasses who seemed to recoil from social interaction.
He always seemed anxious, said Rosario Lucumi, 51, who rode the same bus in Torrance as Mr. Mercer when she went to work.

Once again , Obama jumped the gun for political purposes in his jihad to take away guns.
Fact is, this is ANOTHER MENTALLY ILL person. Did Obama once mention that All OF THESE CASES ARE TIED TO MENTAL ILLNESS, OR DOES HE NEGLECT THAT FACT TO PUSH HIS ANTI-GUN NONSENSE?

In fact 0bama was well aware of all of the evidence when he made his speech. These people are completely without scruples just like their father, the father of lies....

We don't have a gun problem; we have a mental-health problem, thanks to the brilliant policy of “mainstreaming” folks who should be in a controlled facility for their own and others’ well-being.

Im thinking if he was asking people their religion and shooting them in the head when they said Christian, the guy was homosexual and on the rampage. Has anyone brought this up?Yeah, I thought of that or that he was a liberal. Libs hate religion and especially Christianity. After it was found out the Pope met with that lady from Kentucky, the libs exploded on twitter.

Just how did he get four firearms with a mental illness record?

Hes being called bi-racial; do you think if he had done something good hed be called bi-racial, or black? Hint: George Zimmerman is a white hispanic. Divide and conquer?Obama's mother was white and his father was black, so Obama is black. This guy though, is bi-racial. Hmm ...

I have not read the article, but she says they talk a LOT about the mother without mentioning the fact that she is black and apparently AN IMMIGRANT.The clue was that she has a real name.

And the New York Times takes great pains to refer to him as “Mr. Mercer”. Repeatedly.
Disgusting.

How do young people get so screwed up mentally? There seems to be a lot of lonely young people out there with no sense of power to create a happy future for themselves. I see a lot of that nowadays. Loneliness, isolation, alienation, paranoia - my world is coming to an end, etc. How do you convince people that these feelings are not really coming from the outside world?
Life doesn't need to be so hard.

Someone said he used the handle, “Lithium Love”, so I’m guessing he was supposed to be on lithium. Probably off his meds for a while leading up to this.

We have a problem of excusing a lack of character as “emotional problems” that need to be treated by therapists.

Oh, bs. Unless his toaster told him to kill those people, he was perfectly sane and rational. He hated the world and rejected God’s commandments because society told him he could.
