Nope - I’ve been meaning to read it....yes, he was a very unique individual, but an unquestionable, and hugely under-rated talent.

Big surprise to me was that the guy was never really financially comfortable, never quite able to kick back and enjoy.

But he was pretty highly edgy/neurotic too, so even if he’d been loaded he probably would have just stayed...high and loaded.

I saw him perform in Bozeman, Montana, in the early 90s I believe. He was all alone, him and a big synthesizer organ that provided percussion, all kinds of extra back-up sound.

I figured he was touring for the fun of it at that point but it turns out he was working like hell, trying to stay afloat.
