"Waffle House's official policy bans guns from its restaurants with the exception of law enforcement."

A uniformed Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper was asked to leave a Waffle House restaurant in Grapevine this week because he was armed. The trooper was wearing a Texas DPS helicopter pilot field uniform that consists of a DPS polo shirt, tan slacks and his badge and gun were on his belt. Trooper was asked to leave and not to return because he was wearing a gun.
The reaction against the manager and Waffle House on Facebook was predictably angry that a uniformed police officer would be thrown out of a restaurant.
CBS DFWs Bud Gillett reported that Waffle House said the manager simply missed seeing the badge on the troopers belt. They admitted it was inappropriate for him to chastise the trooper in front of other patrols. In a press release sent to CBS DFW, Waffle House spokesman Pat Warner said:
It is Waffle House policy to allow police officers to bring weapons into our restaurants. In this incident, the manager did not initially see the officers badge and should have handled the issue with more discretion. We apologize...
He should thank them for refusing to serve him.
They may have saved his life.
How does this make sense?
They should rename their restaurants the aWffle House.
or the WAFFLING house
I need to invest in some claymores..such a better deterrent then lites/cameras.
How about the Out House.
Very very good point (same thing could be said of the way “sanctuary cities” disobey the law), but we know that under Hussein’s regime, the law is whatever Hussein says it is, and he proves it by the way he selectively enforces some laws and ignores other ones. The rest of the left are just taking the hint, but let somebody like Kim Davis enact what is actually a right enshrined in the Constitution in no uncertain words, and all of a sudden the left starts with the hypocritical screaming about “rule of law”.
LOL!
Guess “gays” have more rights at Waffle House than those of us who are not gay and carry weapons.
To my knowledge Waffle House was founded by 2 political conservatives. There are photos of them inside the restaurants wearing military uniforms.
Not accepted. Something more will need to be forthcoming. Like a suspension for the manager for being a douche nozzle.
it’s Obamaworld.
2nd amendment adherents really need to get their act together and stop patronizing these businesses. They can deny service, unless you are queer, but we can deny our money.
"
Sam credited the rapid growth of Walmart not just to the low costs that attracted his customers, but also to his associates. He relied on them to give customers the great shopping experience that would keep them coming back."
Now I ask you..does that hold true for today? The wally-world by us always looks like it's in constant flux.
I have been aware of this policy and have quit eating at Waffle House. I would eat breakfast there when I travel, I now eat at Huddle House or McDonald’s. My local Huddle House in Olive Branch Ms. and the one in Grenada Ms. have NO FIREARMS signs so I don’t eat or stop at either of these locations anymore.
I don’t know. I think Waffle House is on a list of restaurants lefties should avoid due to the conservative thinking of the owners?
