Over the weekend, a soldier with the National Guard was told to leave his gun outside of the Nicholasville Waffle House or he wouldnt be served. The situation is now getting national attention.
Billy Welch said that he stopped at the Waffle House Sunday morning for breakfast. He was in his Army National Guard uniform and had his gun holstered to his side. After ordering his food, Welch said that a waitress signaled for him to come over.
"I got up and I walked over to them, asked them how they were doing and stuff, and they said I'd have to take my firearm outside, said Welch.

The owner of the Nicholasville Waffle House made this statement, For many years we have had a No Firearms police in place in our restaurants. We continue to believe this is the best policy for the safety of our customers and associates.

That would be awesome, but no.
I hope every First Responder, gun owner and Military Service Member and Vet in the area makes it a point to never eat there again. Let’s see how long they stay open.
Especially at a Waffle House.
Heck, there are some Waffle Houses where I think it is policy that if you go in after midnight and before about 6AM, and you don’t have a firearm, they issue you one.
Really bad for a restaurant with a Southern distribution. Carter Georgians.
A fine place to avoid.
I will not enter any business that advertises itself as a risk-free shooting gallery for Muslims and other criminals.
I wouldn’t eat there. Now all the criminals know where the guns are not. Anybody who is injured by somebody carrying a gun robbing the place needs to sue the owner.
I agree. But its damn hard to find many places open at 2:00am.
Great point.
Did you just say Gay rights are reproductive rights? Seems you missed the birds and bees lecture somewhere along the line.
Dood!
If Muslim can be a race...
P.S. Thanks for biting the hook ;)
But if he exercised his right to refuse to cater a gay wedding, the outrage would be deafening.
What a POS.
You got that right.
Hilarious.
Google “Waffle House Robbery”, and there are page after page of stories of how robbers invade Waffle Houses.
Apparently the owners of the chain have a problem with pattern recognition.
Incredible publicity! Now all the bad guys know this place is guaranteed to be a gun free zone and easy pickins!
This is hardly the same as a private citizen open-carrying a firearm in the restaurant. Does Waffle House make police officers leave their firearms outside the restaurant?
In any event, I will not be eating at any more waffle house restaurants any time soon. They have a right to their anti-gun policies and I have a right to spend my money at establishments that respect me and my family.
