At this point theres no point in aggregating ever last this and that about Ahmed Mohamed, especially since this is the newspaper that has Avi Selk on the payroll. But a reader did forward a Facebook post in which you might be interested and, no, not Mark Zuckerbergs, but an overnight post from Apple co-founder (and Midlake fan) Steve Wozniak.
Related Irving 9th-grader goes from handcuffed to hero over homemade clock frenzy GOP candidates weigh in on Ahmed Mohamed arrest for hoax bomb Editorial: Overreaction in clock-bomb mix-up has chilling effect It began with a few sentences in which The Man Called Woz recounts his origin story, before he met Steve Jobs and crafted that garage myth. Wrote Wozniak, without mentioning Ahmed by name:
The story about the kid arrested for making a clock takes me back to high school in 1967. I built an electronic metronome and placed it in a friends locker, along with a tin-foil switch to speed up the ticking when the locker was opened. I couldnt hold my laughter when Principal Bryld told me how he extracted the bomb, ran out to the football field (from the C building), and dismantled it. I wound up spending a night in juvie. I did teach other inmates there how they could remove the electric wires from an overhead fan and attach them to the metal bars no shock the guards. And that could have been the end of it a retelling of the origin story also found in Walter Isaacsons Steve Jobs biography. But instead, Wozniak responded to fans who thumbsed-up the well-known story.
Wrote one Steven Schuster of Racine, Wisconsin: Sounds like you could have gone either way.

The nicest guy explains to inmates how to rig the bars of a jail cell to send an electric current to the officers doing their job? Really?
Nah, he’s twisted. Sadly...
Still lingering brain issues after he crashed his plane in the early 1980s?
I think that story, is one his “stories”.
He has some very complicated jokes, which are difficult for most people to understand and usually there is an actual punch line that eventually accompanies the story.
But, think about it: How is an inmate going to control the flow of electricity to “Merely Shock” someone?
Can’t and it probably is one of his complicated stories...
So Steve celebrates a little punk ass and his jihad daddy for bringing a hoax bomb to school? How do we survive such idiocy?
Did he ever show you his man cave? Its legend around here.
I read somewhere he moved OUTSIDE THE USA. If that’s the case, he should not give a rip about our country. These regressives are truly despicable.
Lets say you’re right.
Decent people tell that story?
It’s problematic for me at least.
Saw a clip of Jon Stewart, who I’m not a fan of, compare clockmed to pouring cherios into a bowl and then claiming to have invented cereal. Pretty darned funny. Disappointed in The Woz.
Yeah, that's a definite thing now, all on it's own.
All I can say is way to go Steve, you're cool, a straight arrow, a real culero!
Well, you may be a published author, but I’m a little concerned about the number of trees that had to die for you to get there. ;)
Unfortunately not. These kids deserve praise.
He always was a dingbat.
wow. well as we engineers always say, garbage in/garbage out.
Liberalism is a disease.
The Woz still smoke a lot of pot.
A Kindle version is on the way.
The Woz never was particularly bright, or Jobs wouldn’t have been able to take advantage of him so easily.
