Admittedly I am reading between the lines, but I am certain no one is of any meaningful character in this story.
She was a thief! Sweet little girls do not steal, embarrassed or otherwise. I’ll give you that maybe she wasn’t a brazen whore, just a subtle one; maybe that was why the boy was attracted to her.
He objectified her because the need or desire for sex surpassed every other restraint. If he cared for her, he would have restrained himself and waited. If he cared for her, he would have restrained himself and purchased the condoms himself or perhaps he too was a shy little Amish boy. Her father objectifies women. He sought an arranged marriage for her. Her parents’ marriage is probably the product of an arrangement. After 19 years with him she learned that women are objects, but instead of lifting herself up above that she chose to allow herself to be objectified by someone he opposed. Very common. (Most people who grow up in abusive households choose mates very similar to the abusers they grew up with). Her father was obviously domineering and she did this boyfriend thing consciously or unconsciously to oppose him but in fact chose a carbon copy of her father as evident by the young man’s lack of initiative to buy condoms and the desire to use her.
Fine. Let us buy your argument for a minute: Best case scenario, she was a perfect child in every sense as was the young man, A1 students and people. Embarrassed by the purchase of a prophylactic, she took the less embarrassing route of committing a crime that garnered her public attention. I’ll buy that and in which case it only makes her an idiot.
I cannot accept the normalizing of illicit sex as it takes us down a very dark road indeed.
Bottom line; everyone in this story is low and it is why I cannot care for anyone in it. I might as well watch the Bad Lieutenant again. YUCK

I believe the Bible tells you to distance yourself from sinful children if they will not repent.
I believe God drove his children from the Garden of Eden due to their transgressions.
I believe Cain was expelled from the land he was in for his deeds.

And that is off the top of my head, so yes, it does say don’t support bad kids.
If I condone my daughter’s actions I condone the morality. So yes, it does corrupt me, it does make me less than faithful. Yes, if my daughter is bopping her boyfriend in her room (I know this wasn’t the case here) it is bad for me.

It was wrong for him to kill her. I am not sure how many times I need to say that. But she was a bad girl. I would be very disappointed in a daughter doing this and I would let her know.
What do you suggest? Dad buying the condoms? Bailing her out of jail?
Exactly what Ben Carson is trying to warn us about. Muslim immigrants to the US should have to renounce Shariah law and any sentiments that they could be justified for killing anyone on the basis that they have been “dishonored”.
