I think we will see it’s a graduated tax with fewer loopholes and lower percentages, perhaps coupled with a national sales tax of some sort.

Republicans are now all about better ways to fund runaway government rather than cutting government.

They couldn’t wait a couple of measly hours to see the plan itself? Rather take a few last moments to spread out some healthy speculation? One thing if the release is a month away. But an hour?

Lower income people have not paid income taxes for a long time, they get money that they didn’t pay in through earned income tax and child tax credits (programs wrought with fraud).

If Trump can get the jobs back like he intends to do, the Treasury will see a huge increase from income tax from the new jobs. At the same time outflows for safety net programs will drop.

If he raises Tariffs in response to trade deficits, the treasury will see a huge increase from the tariffs. I don’t think raising tariffs is his first choice, negotiating fair trade agreements are. But he will use tariffs to force fair trade if an agreement can’t be reached.

Jeb Bush’s tax plan is probably “we’ll take all your sh!t and redistribute it because of your ‘privilege’.”

Most likely his first issuance of his plan in specificity will be in Spanish before an Hispanic audience. IF that ever happens.

So he doesn’t want the poor to have the opportunity to invest in America?

I would love it if he would eliminate the Earned Income Tax. We’re just giving money away under a different pot of money.

“It’s so amusing how he says, “we’re not raising taxes” after saying he was going to raise taxes on some of the very wealthy.”

Trump was obviously referring to the overall, cumulative effect of his tax plan when he said “we’re not raising taxes”. And anyone, except this writer, would realize that the increase on taxes on hedge fund people is symbolic.

He is saying all the right things that we want to hear (and have heard before only to be betrayed) but what about the things we don't want to hear? Higher taxes? Obamacare? Gun control? Abortion? Pin this stuff down now before it is too late. Do not elect anyone who has not been totally vetted before the election. After the election is too late! I don't want to have to pass something in order to read it.

He’s looking to tax hedge funds managers who many here will agree can be crooks.

Looks like Hotair has its Anti Trump soldiers on this site.

I heard the interview... did you? This is pretty much the Jack Kemp plan... and we took in a lot of money under that.

The key is in the definition of “wealthy”. When Democrats say they’re going to tax the wealthy, they’re talking about anyone with any income at all (burger flippers on up), and exclude the super-wealthy.
