Trying way to hard to be clever....and utterly failing.
I want the last five minutes of my life back.
What an utterly pointless screed.
Good Lord, what a whiner. These people get paid to write this? I’m in the wrong job.
Its Trump and no one else - he effectively conveys people’s anger at Washington.
And he’s rolling out his platform - immigration in the summer, 2 Amendment rights a few weeks ago and today tax policy.
Kurt, you miss the point: GOP voters support outsiders because they’re fed up and more of the same won’t stop the managed decline of our country.
And both parties seem comfortable with it. I don’t believe the American people are ready for it.
“painfully white, elderly,”
That’s as far as I got.
Just keep one’s mouth shut and don’t write much here (it will get deleted). God is in charge. When HE is ready, all hell will break loose on the evil leadership.
To Kurt: I want a wall.
do what trump does. post twitter rants at 3am. it’s very presidential.
The author is a Carly supporter. Isn’t that nice? Her record is one of getting pounded by Barbara Boxer, fired at HP, and being the female version of Mitt Romney. So...just say Carly can’t win, and you’ve pretty well summed it up.
If the issue is who actually has a chance to win, I’d put forward the names of Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Christie, Bush, Santorum, and Huckabee for discussion.
I am not saying they are all conservatives. We would have to be honest about Bush and Christie that they are not. Therefore, take them off the list.
Trump claims to have seen the light and become a conservative. That’s no different than Romney, so I’m willing to entertain the notion. Trump is also the only guy in the field who can self-finance without owing his decisions to some backroom daddy warbucks. That’s a strong calling card. Naysayers need to be honest, too. Trump has been the target of round-the-clock assaults from all media since his announcement, and that includes so-called conservative media. He has been the target of every debate moderator, nearly every other candidate, and even the liberal cardinals in the catholic church don’t like him, so he gets talked against at church. What this all means is that he has run a gauntlet that should be acknowledged. When all you know is getting punched, then you’ve either got to punch back or get knocked out. I LIKE that he’s a FIGHTER. He can buy enough air time to win, and he stands a decent chance of winning some purple states like New Jersey.
Cruz is not a personal wonk. Nor is he photogenic. He’s not going to be on GQ anytime soon, but he would intellectually dwarf any of the other candidates. He is the most solid conservative on the list, and he could hold his own in any debate. He has not been given a chance to speak in any debate so far. He is my first choice, and if he can hold on while the field narrows, then eventually they’ll not be able to shunt him off into some corner and ignore him. Can he win? It will be a tough pathway to victory, but the Christian conservatives will flock to support him. He could win.
Rubio has been an accepted conservative his entire political career until recently when he was hoodwinked on the comprehensive immigration bill. He was a young senator, and he should have known, and I’m sure he’s smart enough to have actually known, but I’m willing to forgive that gross error if it is between Rubio and Hillary/Biden/Sanders. I think he’d have Florida, and also great appeal in Ohio. I think he could win.
When all the conservatives were gone last go-around, Santorum was still standing. I was supporting him over Romney and still would. If the same thing transpires — which I seriously doubt — I would do the same thing if it were Santorum versus and of the liberal Republicans. Could he win? He would be competitive in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and social conservatives would not stay home. He’s not well funded. Again, a tough path to victory, but it is a possibility.
Huckabee has some serious appeal in flyover country and virtually none on the coasts. He looks country, sounds country, and speaks country. He also has made major missteps with immigration and social safety net. He is stellar on life, defense, natural family, and foreign affairs. If one assumes that the coastal states are lost anyway, then the big question becomes: could Huckabee win Ohio? I don’t think so. Huckabee should be taken from the list.
The real choices at this point are Trump, Cruz, and Rubio with Santorum if he somehow survives the primary process which I seriously doubt this time.
The media are loath to make the connection, but it’s obvious that the Boehner resignation was yet another domino falling due to the Trump Effect, as Trump’s unabashed truth-telling and fearless neutering of the kommie media triggered a revolt amongst the great unwashed GOP masses and emboldened a few conservative Congress critters to grow a few pairs.
And we wouldn’t even be having ANY of these conversations about illegal immigration and myriad of other Obammunist issues destroying our country if it wasn’t for the “tiresome” Trump. Instead, we’d simply be debating which RINO, GOPe squish would be least likely to stomped by Hillary and the GOPe would once again be exhorting the “base” the how critical it would be for us to once again vote for the “lesser of two evils”, that is, vote for the GOPe side of the Uniparty coin.
And do note that ALL of the oligarchs are frightened to death of Donald Trump because the billionaires and millionaires can’t buy him like all of the other politicians because Trump doens’t need nor want their money, and the kommie media is frightened to death of him because he isn’t afraid of them, the bottom line being that Donald Trump can not be controlled by the rich and powerful, so for anyone who is truly for campaign finance reform and want to take money out of politics, voting for Trump is the only reasonable choice.
President Trump is really the last hope for this country: if he can’t undo any of the damage wrought by the Obammunists, the U.S.A. is done.
Finally, people are starting to get their heads into the game and play properly.
Um let me put this gently. Carly is a mussy supporter, the same ones that want my kids heads removed. She should go to Germany and run for Merkels job because I would never vote for her. Well that should read never never ever .
Elect Carly and you’ve elected another shillary...
you wan to burn something down, well a vote for her will certainly do it....
You want a country to be put back together, get your head out of your butt, see the day light, smell the air, and vote for a MAN that can and will do something...your right...TRUMP!!!
He may know Jindal, but he doesn’t know Fiorina.
On this we agree.
You want to burn it all down but Conan didn’t present well at the last castle banquet. He used his fingers? Horrors.
Kurt should just sit this one out and let some illegal alien vote in his place.
He says Cruz is the best conservative but he can’t get elected because he talks like a lawyer and lacks charisma.
What nonsense he may be a lawyer but he certainly is not hard to understand, I don’t see how he lacks charisma every time they announce his name the crowd is immediately on their feet and pretty much stay on their feet until he has long left the podium, even in his Media interviews you can see the interviewers have a tough time diminishing him, in fact if you look close some of them seem to be at least somewhat persuaded.
This guy thinks Carly is MAYBE the best, the guy is an idiot, his assessment of the Rino’s is a tad light but satisfactory, so how can he not see Carly is right there with the most dedicated Rino’s, they don’t call her FioRino for nothing.
I kinda liked the piece. Agree with the comments that Trump is really setting the table with issues that people have to talk about once the topics are out in the open. I think, too, that Trump’s example will rub off on a true conservative who might start talking seriously in terms that both appeal to the base and will show promise to the center. When that happens, his duty done, Trump will fade. Wait, wait, don’t start your blast-off until I’m finished. I like what the Donald says about the issues of immigration and leadership. But that’s only half his schtick. The other half is the whining that sounds EXACTLY like . . . drum roll . . . Barack Obama. I’m tired of that trick.
To conclude: Trump is setting the table for, like it or not, Carly. Maybe a Carly-Rubio ticket, Cruz AG, Palin Energy, Carson Surgeon General. Carly has an appeal that can overcome anything you point out, accurate or inaccurate, about her past. She’s even more electable that BO was, and he had nothing. She’s more charismatic. She’s smarter, more presidential, less scary to the voter who’s not . . . well, not of the Freeper species. Lotta folks want to win this election, and most of those do not see fire and brimstone actually burning down the country as a winning strategy. She’s not right on every issue with me. But she has a kind of wow-factor Barack never had.
If Trump wins the nomination, by all means come back and tell me I was wrong. I assure you, unless Trump stops his incessant whining about how unfairly he’s being treated, he’s as gone as BO. If Carly wins, come back and tell me . . . oh, well, I never would expect you to admit I was right.
And for that reason, he loses my vote.
