GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump shared more of his views on foreign policy Friday, telling an audience in Oklahoma his 2016 rivals want to “start World War III over Syria” and suggesting the U.S. let Russia take up the fight against the Islamic State in the region.
“They want to start World War III over Syria. Give me a break,” Mr. Trump said at the State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, The Hill reported.
“You know Russia wants to get ISIS right,” Mr. Trump said, using the acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. “We want to get ISIS. Russia’s in Syria. Maybe we should let them do it? Let them do it. What the hell are we, crazy?”
Mr. Trump’s remarks come as Russia is increasing its military forces in Syria, a move which has alarmed U.S. military and administration officials.

For one thing, they won't have to face American anti-aircraft and antitank missiles like they did in Afghanistan. Do you not know the history of how we helped the Afghans beat the Soviets?
Well, I think that is an exaggeration because Shiite control of Iraq, which was inevitable in a post-Saddam solitary Iraqi state given the Shiite majority, empowered the Iranians which threatened the Sunni Arabs states like Saudi Arabia. This caused the Arabs to tacitly support ISIS (despite saying the opposite) in order to weaken Iran and its client states (Iraq and Assad). So yes things were massively better than they were today and yes we probably could have kept a lid on it as long as we stayed there but the seeds of instability were planted on when Saddam was deposed and Shiite influence was allowed to spread west. That's my opinion at least, which does not at all excuse Obama from anything.
“I am not voting for Trump but I do think he makes more sense on this issue than others do. I am open to correction on this. My understanding of all the particulars is limited. I admit that. This is a very complicated issue. But someone needs to wipe ISIS off the map.”
It is not about ISIS. It is about Russia expanding its influence in the middle east and it is about oil as well. ISIS is the excuse. Trump is in way over his head.

Russia is supplying the Rebels in the Southeast Ukraine out of OLD INVENTORY, that has been sitting in warehouses and bunkers for 30-60 YEARS.
They have been supplying the Syrians, who are still fighting with T-55’a, from that same inventory. Only in the last two weeks has the modern Russian stuff showed up, and that is under strictly Russian control, it seems.
It’s hard to comprehend the vast amount of weapons and ammo the Soviets produced, that has just sat there for decades. Ukraine have been the world’s greatest arms bazaar for over two decades, just from the tuff the Russians left behind, enabled by rampant corruption at all levels, and “Accounting Errors” in stocks.
Remember that for the first 6 months of the Ukrainian Civil war, the rebels fought with supplies from just ONE ammo stash outside of Sloviansk.

otoh, the Saudis and Kuwaitis are funding ISIS because if they don’t, Iran will swoop around Basra and take the Saudi Pennisula in no time flat. That is why ISIS still exsists, to protect the oil in the peninsula......Already Iran is setting up an overthrow of Kuwait.

Worse mistake an American President has made in this century. Once he said that, he tied the hands of our troops and made it a nation building lovey dovey don’t shoot unless the shoot you first crap Nam like war.
W had the chance to do ANYTHING after 9/11. he chose to call the enemy a religion of peace and told us to go to Disneyworld in Florida.
Russia has plenty of oil. If it is about expanding influence I see no evidence of that yet. Someone needs to stop ISIS and stop the endless flow of refugees out of Syria. They have a home. The rest of the world needs to flatten ISIS and give the refugees back their homes.
You are very correct. Obama came into office apologizing to every muslim leader in the Middle East, and immediately starting funding and arming the militants to overthrow them. He and his sycophants, including the US Senate, set the Middle East on fire. Egypt reversed their Obama-led coup, the only country yet to do so, and Egypt continues to fight the terrorists in their country.
Hopefully, history will show what a disaster to the world this Obama presidency really was.
That's so very true. Bush was in a unique historical position. He could have crushed radical islam into fine dust, just as the Allies crushed the Nazis.
I remember reading an article written by an American who happened to be in Greece on 9/11. He said that Greek citizens were rushing up to him, offering support for America. The entire civilized world was on our side, ready to crush radical islam into fine dust. Bush chose another direction instead.

I realize that ISIS is Sunni, but then why are we fighting ISIS, so Iran can take over the oil? I still can’t make sense of this.
Or maybe we fight ISIS and Assad until Assad falls, then we try to install the college students, but of course that doesn’t work, and ISIS takes over. If that’s the case, then why not just side with ISIS?
Well we aren’t fighting ISIS ...we are pretending to fight ISIS.
Look they have no tank divisions no Air Wings no fleet. Any Country could destroy them...except the Saudis are paying nations to lay off. The question is when will the Saudis get out bribed......hint....Saudis send half their oil to .......yep.....China and China gets half its oil from the middle east and it wants a stable reliable supply. How does it accomplish this?
