George and Barbara Bush had lunch at Bentley's, a biker bar in Arundel Maine on Friday.

Looks in the photo like Bush might have a shandy in front of him. Too pale to be a pumpkin shandy however. Probably a Sam Adams porch rocker.
Also, sad to say that George Bush is probably seeing his last autumn. I've seen that look many times before in aging people. But he's had a rich, full life and I wish George Sr. well in his twilight days and hopefully he'll get to a few more bars in the meantime.
“That is some strange looking beer, if it is beer.”
It may be Angry Orchard Apple Cider or a craft beer such has Gritty’s Octoberfest or Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale.
Rog... was replying to Ann...just figured I would cc: you since it was your conversation I was commenting on.
“It doesnt look very good. Probably some designer brew with a cute name though so they can charge $8.00 a glass.”
Although some craft brews can be pricey, I would think most Bentley’s patrons would balk at ever paying $8 for a glass of liquid.
.
Guiness?
.
I believe he was seriously injured at home recently.
That happens to people that live that long.
On second look, could be a pumpkin beer. Pumpkin beer is very popular in New England this time of year.
Now this is a proper Guiness:
Have you been in the place?
From the photo it looks like a former fern bar with gastro pub pretensions and some biker-poser stuff going on as well.
Also kitschy wall ornaments on the wall, like Applebees, for `flair’ I suppose.
I can’t see George and Barb going into a real bikers bar, but I can see them paying $8 a pop for suds with names like Arrogant Bastard Ale, Beavis’s Black & Tan or Santa’s Buttocks Porter.
.
That’s embalming fluid he is drinking.
I was looking at the glass in the foreground; its pretty dark.
Ha!!!!!!!!!!!! I apologize. Maybe I was being too harsh. Not a good day for me so yes, I am sorry.
I’ve been in a few bikers’ bar. If not too late in the evening anyone getting a brew that murky would demand a fresh draw, thinking that batch had gone bad.
We may be quibbling over the definition of “biker”. I’m old enough to remember when bikers were guys on parole, usually safe to be around because they didn’t want to go back to prison or jail.
About the only decorations were neon signs provided free by brewers so patrons could remember what they were drinking and some cut-off neckties and human ears nailed to the walls and ceilings.
A lot of “bikers” today are CPAs and lawyers, and that ilk, so maybe it’s one of those kinds of biker bars.
Wife and I are working on one of those Coors in the aluminum bottles with a screw-on top.
What a great thing! If you can’t finish, why just screw the top on good-and-tight, and it’s not flat the next day! Some genius in Golden deserves a sugar cookie and fat raise.
“Also, sad to say that George Bush is probably seeing his last autumn.”
Being selfish here but I hope he has a few more. It would be a travesty for Obama to be in office at his funeral.
You need to lay off the acid.
Nice picture of a sweet couple going out for a good time.
Some of the comments on this thread make me wonder why I still visit this site, though.
Holy moly, them 2 have “Weekend at Bernies” written all over them.
Yes. You gotta think Laura was a HORRIBLE influence on Jr.

I have not been in Bentley’s, but I can assure you it is a real biker bar. Bentley’s is near Kennebunkport and Walker’s Point. The Bushes are known for going out to the local watering holes/restaurants and I think they very comfortable with these places. They probably have known the owners of Bentley’s through various charitable events in Maine over the years.
Egads.
