Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum vowed Friday to pursue immigration policies that protect American workers, while warning voters that some of his GOP rivals have embraced a much softer approach to the issue. Mr. Santorum, the runner-up in the 2012 Republican nomination battle, urged the crowd that converged on a hotel in Washington, D.C., for the annual Values Voter Summit to recognize that a couple of the speakers before him Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz have previously supported amnesty for illegal immigrants. You have a lot of people that come up here and talk about how tough they are, but they actually support amnesty. The speaker just before me running for president, he will tell you how tough he is, Mr. Santorum said, alluding to Mr. Cruz. He offered an amendment to allow people to stay in this country indefinitely. To me, that is amnesty. Mr. Santorum has struggled to gain a foothold in national polling and is running near the back of the pack. With that as a backdrop, the 57-year-old has staked a lot in the immigration debate. He also has touted the conservative record he compiled in Congress, including authoring legislation aimed at changing the leadership of the Iranian government. Mr. Santorum served in the House from 1991 to 1995 and in the Senate from 1995 to 2007 when he lost his re-election bid to Democrat Bob Casey Jr. by a 59 percent to 41 percent margin.

Who thinks that?
Good. Cruz needs to be pushed in the right direction by Trump and others.
Question! Doesn’t an HB1 allow a person to stay indefinitely in some or all cases?
Like all work visas, they expire and need to be renewed - conditional on the employer's request and INS approval. In theory, it's possible to keep renewing the work visa indefinitely, I'm not sure how often this happens.
A more likely problem is people illegally staying here after their work visas have expired.

“She didn’t ask about deporting the parents. She said Would you deport US citizen children?
No, that is a false statement, if you want to bring up false statements.
Megyn Kelly’s question, as I posted:
Question: “whether the Texas senator would deport immigrants who came to the United States illegally if their children were born in the country.”
Notice: She was asking about IMMIGRANTS WHO CAME TO THE UNITED STATES ILLEGALLY IF THEIR CHILDREN... That is about deporting parents, NOT children.
Trump was asked the same question. He did not evade the question.
H-1B is huge problem but since it doesn’t affect you personally then yo don’t give sh!t.
You are full of it, who said anything about be hourly? What kind of BS is this. Everyone knows H-1B are not hourly employees. WTH?
Ted Cruz wants to increase H-1B visas from 65,000 to 325,000 annually
I challenge you to link to any quote by Cruz that would make you think he was for amnesty.
It is not what he said, it is what he hasn't said.
If he had taken the same position as Trump he would not be in single digits, but I doubt he can change tactics today and gain anything, that ship has sailed.
There are 15 candidates in the field. Mathematically almost all of them would be in single digits. Again, let’s wait until we are at least closer to voting time to see who is where
“Cruz was then asked, if you have a husband and a wife who are illegal immigrants, and they have two children who are here, who are American citizens, would you deport all of them? Would you deport the American citizen children?
“After Kelly again asked whether the American citizen children of illegal immigrants would be deported under his policy, Cruz answered, Megyn, I get that thats the question you want to ask, thats also the question every mainstream media liberal journalist wants to ask. They focus exclusively “
Oh and here’s a link to the actual interview, in case you want to hear it for yourself.
No. It has, however, been abused by people trying to stay here indefinitely, however, far less often than by those with other work permits or student visas.
See my links above. Or, you know, continue to rely on misquotes and MSM distortions.
he refused to come out four-square against amnesty when Megyn Kelly gave him the opportunity a few weeks ago.

True.
Corker: without the Corker bill, Obama would not have had to submit the TREATY ( because that is what it is, even if no one will call it that) at all.
With out a bill he could not have released the money either, which is why they needed one.
No, the question I heard was when Trump had just announced that all illegals would be deported. Kelly asked him point blank three times would you deport ALL illegals like Trump. Cruz refused to answer, said that was a question that the press would ask, etc.
His position on birth right citizenship is about as murky.

Yeah. If Cruz has answers all over the place concerning amnesty and birth right citizenship, that’s a problem.
He should have answered “yes” because they are not really American citizens. He was accepting HER premise, and refused to counter it. I don’t know if was the same interview, but the Constitutional expert waffled on the 14th amendment controversy. He could have countered her premise. Most Constitutional experts would have backed him up.
Again, Trump said deport them all, if they are illegal.
Not legally....if you are no,longer employed by the outfit that got you the hb1 you are supposed to leave is how I understand it.
