I hear you, BUT there’s something magic about going to place like Peoria, and SAvannah, and Boise and Wimberley, TX. You cross this land, and people get to see you and be part of the enthusiasm.

Why do think ALL of Trump’s speeches are live? Because we enjoy seeing and hearing him.

Does anyone know where he’s going to be in the coming days?

I agree. When we (Victor Hanson, John Keegan, and I) met with him in 2006, we stressed this. Temporarily he began using “Islamofascism” (which I think Hanson suggested), but shortly after that, drifted back into the ROP language.

I agree with you that he’s keeping his powder dry. But I have 2 concerns with his approach (and keep in mind that I want him to be the next POTUS):

1) He is thoroughly pissing off a lot of Republicans. I know, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs...I’m actually enjoying a lot of that. BUT, you need some reasonable degree of support from your own party to win, and he’s on track to lose a lot of it.

2) He is, through his tactics, causing a lot of fence-sitters to say, “I’ll never vote for this guy.” That’s not a hit on his policies - because we don’t have much in the way of specifics on them - it is because many people (not being from New York) don’t like the rancor. Me, I don’t mind, and I even admire him for fighting back (unlike Boehner and McTurtle, who never met a fight they didn’t run from, other than with conservatives).

I know, many independents and many people who just haven’t shown up at the polls for many years will come to his side because of his positions, his demeanor, his lack of corruption and his willingness to tell it like it is and be unswervingly in the corner of the average person...but that will be largely balanced off by losing the people I described above. I think it possible for him to get 95% of the dissatisfied while keeping a larger percentage of those that don’t like the rancor. But that requires a slight course change in the near future.

You may be right, but it’s early.

Your points are very well taken. Hopefully, someone on Free Republic who has personal contacts with Trump will forward them to him.

While I have not committed to anyone--and do not plan to this early;--the choice to me seems to be between Trump & Cruz. There are a couple of others, I could probably live with; but they each have flaws that are not being dealt with.

Anyhow, the point is that we very much need to keep Trump completely viable, and your comments need serious consideration in that pursuit.

Words like "caustic" and "bombastic" – often used to describe Trump – don’t exactly bring to mind the sort of “reach across the aisle” leadership we need to get Washington functioning again.

False premise. Washington doesn't work when one party has a blank check to demand the other capitulate on its principles. Reaching across the aisle, as it were, belies the fact that Congress and DC need to learn to solve national issues without impinging on American freedoms. That cannot be done without a bit of rancor, especially given the entrenched political harlots currently inside the beltway.

That “reach across the aisle” crap was one of the few stupid statements in an otherwise good article.

If staying mute against the lies and slander of the democrats, Bush endured is being divisive.... I might need a new dictionary....

Amen to that.

Trump is going to take all 50 states

Seriously ?

I have no doubt Trump can take a majority of the states...

He isn't going to take all 50...

Illinois, California, Oregon, Hawaii, Washington State, Connecticut, Massachusetts won't vote for God Almighty if he had a "R" by his name on the ballot...

I think he’ll surprise a lot of people. Hey, just taking New York would be impressive. I think he’s going to win over the Hollywood crowd, and yes the Hispanics and yes he’ll take California.

Hope ... Trump brings a sense of HOPE, and direction, ...

away from the last years of anti-American values and disservices, so as to no longer be weakening our National defenses on many levels. Forgive us our sins LORD, “we know not what we do.”

God blessings on America, keep America strong LORD, Praise, Honor, Glory are Thine, in Jesus name. Amen

Win California ?

I understand being pumped up about Trump and the possibility of winning the brass ring, but Trump isn’t winning California....even if he actually did win, the California dem crime machine would just steal it...
