Israel is expected to request exclusive access, among Middle Eastern nations, to some US technologies including the Lockheed Martin F-35 as part of a "compensation package" being sought following Washington's support earlier this year for a lifting of economic and trade sanctions on Iran.
Likely equipment requests involve additional F-35s, Boeing KC-46A tankers, Bell Boeing V-22 tiltrotors and advanced precision-guided weapons which have yet to be exported by the USA, including bunker-busting weapons. Israel also wants to acquire undisclosed electronic systems that would be crucial to maintain its ability to perform long-range strike missions.
The nation's defence ministry continues to prepare its list of requested equipment, which Israeli sources say is likely to be submitted by prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he meets with US President Barack Obama in November.
Prior to the Iranian nuclear deal being signed in July, Israel had said that the military option was on the table to counter Tehran. Sources suggest that current signs indicate the international agreement will not stop Iran from becoming a military nuclear power, which forces Israel to be capable of "neutralising the threat". The USA has also been stockpiling military hardware in Israel because of the situation.
I can easily see Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and UAE wanting the F-35A for their own air forces, and that would worry Israel.
The F-35 was designed for the export market, so I’m not sure that the U.S. would agree to Israeli exclusivity in the Middle East.
Turkey was an early partner and they provided funds, which helped get the F-35 program started. Since that time Turkey has, for all practical purposes, become an enemy. But it would be difficult in the present political circumstances to deny Turkey full use of a product their support helped create.
Turkey has developed close working relationships with Iran which guarantee’s Iran’s access to any F-35 technology they possess. I can’t see the present occupant of the White House denying Turkey based on this almost certain breach, though.
Please let Israel have it! Perhaps they can get it to work.
Apparently there’s more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye.
I can’t imagine 0bama or this State Dept green lighting that kind of request. How will that help the terrorists? Won’t it make it harder for Iran to ‘wipe Israel off the map’?
Does Netanyahu has some leverage most don’t know about. Otherwise it’s a shot in the dark, imo.
They should let Israel build the F22.
Why would Israel want the J35 lemon? they should build their own Jet fighter along with India.
After getting their necks put in the Nuclear Noose by Obama and the leftist Jews in American how can they want to continue to trust them?
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Maybe they want the US to say no.
Maybe.
That’s what I was alluding to in my previous, that there’s things going on in int’l politics that I don’t know about and/or just don’t understand.
But I stand with Israel at any rate.
“Why would Israel want the J35 lemon?”
Probably because they know more about fights than the people that wrote whatever articles made you think it was a lemon.
As do I.
