Does anyone know whose decision it was to ask the Pope to address Congress, the first one ever to do so? I think those invitations have to come from leaders of the House and Senate, but haven’t heard how and why this Pope got this unprecedented invitation.

Asked the same question as to why or who invited him.
There was such an outrage over Bibi talking , but a leader of Catholics is alright to preach to the country on our laws.
