As a ten year old Catholic boy, I remember being questioned by the mother of the Protestant family next door who asked me if my parents HAD!!! to vote for Kennedy.
I was not exactly into politics at that age, but I told her I didn't think so. That's what many Protestants thought in those days...Catholics had to vote Kennedy.
