Donald Trump, the front-runner in the Republican primary run for the White House – and one of the most massive media draws of the political season – announced on Twitter Wednesday he’s not doing any more Fox News interviews because he’s been badly treated by the cable hosts.

“Fox News has been treating me very unfairly & I have therefore decided that I won’t be doing any more Fox shows for the foreseeable future,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

Within two hours of posting, the message received more than 4,500 favorites, and more than 2,300 re-tweets.

If that’s a wife swap, Trump drew the short straw.

Nah, even Greta and Hannity who normally slobber over Trump have tweeted him to stick to the issues and stop attacking the network they work for (and people who work there). Trump has been getting 2 hours of glowing prime time coverage a night from Greta and Hannity, he will suffer much more without that than than Fox News will not having him on endlessly.

There is no host on any network that was giving him the kind of positive coverage Greta and Hannity was. If he burns those bridges it will seriously damage his campaign. If Hannity turns on him, that may have a ripple effect through the radio hosts like Rush and Levin (who are both good friends with Sean Hannity) who have also given Trump good coverage.

Trump is acting like a spoiled crybaby, it won’t serve him well. These (among others) are the kind of childish things that will eventually kill his campaign. Trump is highly unlikely to be the GOP nominee.

Wrong, Fox News is betraying their commitment to their viewership to be fair and balanced. They are not allowed to be good journalists and refuse to cover a candidate based on a personal vendetta between them and the candidate. Even an MSM news station wouldn’t do anything so blatantly biased no matter how much they hated a candidate. CNN would never say because Ted Cruz said we’re a liberal network, we’re cancelling all his appearances. Trump is a candidate and no network who wishes to remain credible and unbiased can cancel his appearances because of a personal gripe. That is the journalist turning themselves into the story instead of reporting the story.

Not to mention, Trump is OBVIOUSLY right that Fox is putting on tons of commentators who are negative on him and at least one host. How can Trump be “in the wrong” when he reports accurately what Fox is doing, and then Fox cancels him for telling the truth they don’t want exposed?

If MSNBC’s Maddow bashed Cruz for an hour, Cruz tweeted that they were biased against him, and then MSNBC announced they would never have Cruz on again, we would obviously all say MSNBC is clearly biased against Cruz. The same exact situation is in play here between Fox and Trump. Fox is wrong, Trump is right. Fox is the bully and you’re bashing Trump for saying he shouldn’t have let his face get in the way of their fist.

Trump is butthurt because he got canceled, probably because he spent the previous day rage tweeting about O'Reilly (whose show he was supposed to go on) and Kelly.

Here is Fox's statement:

“At 11:45am today, we canceled Donald Trump’s scheduled appearance on The O’Reilly Factor on Thursday, which resulted in Mr. Trump’s subsequent tweet about his ‘boycott’ of FOX News. The press predictably jumped to cover his tweet, creating yet another distraction from any real issues that Mr. Trump might be questioned about. When coverage doesn’t go his way, he engages in personal attacks on our anchors and hosts, which has grown stale and tiresome. He doesn’t seem to grasp that candidates telling journalists what to ask is not how the media works in this country.

Statement seems perfectly reasonable to me, I agree with it and it's assessment of Trump's shtick growing stale and tiresome.

If you are attacking a network and it's hosts, there is a good chance they will cancel you. Shocking I know!

If you think other networks won't do the same you are mistaken. People get blackballed all the time from one network or the other if they attack said network or the hosts. Nothing surprising about that.

In your example Maddow would probably be happy to have Cruz on no matter what he said because her goal is to destroy him. Fox News finds itself in a situation where the audience is right of center and Fox's choice is simply canceling him or having him on for what would likely be an even more contentious interview that would generate even more bad blood and controversy. Canceling seems to me to be the best option. And I don't think Fox said they'd NEVER have him on again. In fact I am quite sure they will, with it all culminating in a big ratings Megyn interview with Trump.

Sorry, but yes, Trump is a crybaby. He honestly seems like a guy who has rarely/never been questioned or challenged. Too many "yes men" around him for far too long is my guess. And btw, Trump needs Fox News far more than Fox News needs Trump. Fox's ratings will continue to dominate, Trump risks alienating some of his biggest supporters with his childish antics (namely Greta, Hannity and all the radio hosts Hannity is buddies with).

Wrong, Fox is denying Trump an interview slot because they are trying to extort good comments, a.k.a. “coverage” out of him. They are the journalists who are supposed to remain unbiased. Their loyalty is supposed to be to the viewers to provide them “fair and balanced” coverage. That’s their job. Getting politicians to stop saying bad things about their network is not their job. They would never cancel an interview with Obama no matter what he said about them. They are erroneously treating Trump like he is not a serious candidate by cancelling his interview even though he’s #1 in the polls.

Trump simply accurately described how they started lining up one commentator after another this week to bash Trump. He is defending himself. That’s his job as a political candidate. Fox punched him and then told mommy to punish him when he took a swing back.
