Not to mention, Trump is OBVIOUSLY right that Fox is putting on tons of commentators who are negative on him and at least one host. How can Trump be “in the wrong” when he reports accurately what Fox is doing, and then Fox cancels him for telling the truth they don’t want exposed?
If MSNBC’s Maddow bashed Cruz for an hour, Cruz tweeted that they were biased against him, and then MSNBC announced they would never have Cruz on again, we would obviously all say MSNBC is clearly biased against Cruz. The same exact situation is in play here between Fox and Trump. Fox is wrong, Trump is right. Fox is the bully and you’re bashing Trump for saying he shouldn’t have let his face get in the way of their fist.
Here is Fox's statement:
At 11:45am today, we canceled Donald Trumps scheduled appearance on The OReilly Factor on Thursday, which resulted in Mr. Trumps subsequent tweet about his boycott of FOX News. The press predictably jumped to cover his tweet, creating yet another distraction from any real issues that Mr. Trump might be questioned about. When coverage doesnt go his way, he engages in personal attacks on our anchors and hosts, which has grown stale and tiresome. He doesnt seem to grasp that candidates telling journalists what to ask is not how the media works in this country.
Statement seems perfectly reasonable to me, I agree with it and it's assessment of Trump's shtick growing stale and tiresome.
If you are attacking a network and it's hosts, there is a good chance they will cancel you. Shocking I know!
If you think other networks won't do the same you are mistaken. People get blackballed all the time from one network or the other if they attack said network or the hosts. Nothing surprising about that.
In your example Maddow would probably be happy to have Cruz on no matter what he said because her goal is to destroy him. Fox News finds itself in a situation where the audience is right of center and Fox's choice is simply canceling him or having him on for what would likely be an even more contentious interview that would generate even more bad blood and controversy. Canceling seems to me to be the best option. And I don't think Fox said they'd NEVER have him on again. In fact I am quite sure they will, with it all culminating in a big ratings Megyn interview with Trump.
Sorry, but yes, Trump is a crybaby. He honestly seems like a guy who has rarely/never been questioned or challenged. Too many "yes men" around him for far too long is my guess. And btw, Trump needs Fox News far more than Fox News needs Trump. Fox's ratings will continue to dominate, Trump risks alienating some of his biggest supporters with his childish antics (namely Greta, Hannity and all the radio hosts Hannity is buddies with).
