I'm sure the general assumption of the article is correct, that ESPN is losing revenue as subscribers cut the cable or turn off the dish. But the $6.61 for ESPN per subscriber looks doubtful. Here is a $29.99 per month Dish package that includes four ESPN channels. No way ESPN gets $6.61 of that $29.99.

Why are there so many homes in America with both abandoned Dish and Direct TV antennas?

It is because the lure you in with that price, change the terms and fees and generally jerk you around on the telephone.

All for 112 channels of crap you are not interested in.

That’s just the introductory rate. Goes up a bunch once that period is over.
