Senate Democrats on Tuesday blocked a Republican bill that would ban most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
The measure failed to advance in a 54-42 vote, falling short of the 60 vote threshold needed.

This is a dog and pony show by the Senate to win votes from low-information voters since the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for abortion purposes.
The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators who vote on issues that they have no constitutional authority to address as well.
Primary voters in Kentucky and Mississippi for starters.
That’s what my Congressman says — most Senators he talks to want to keep it. But, I think, that it subverts the Constitution and is ruining our country.
So, obviously, they want to kill fully formed babies.

Had the Dems wanted to pass something, a simple majority would suffice. With US there, we need a supermajority to get anything done.
I blame the REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP for this one. They could get this through is they wanted it.
