I hear you. NOx is not much of a problem outside of Los Angeles, but it certainly is in Los Angeles. Seems that prohibiting the highly-polluting vehicle in Los Angeles could make some sense.

The bigger problem when this crap happens is that the regulators can go to other companies that are having trouble complying and essentially say: “Well VW can do it, what’s your problem?”. Say what you will about the standards, but at a minimum they have to be enforced equally on all players.
