Donald Trump on Saturday responded to a question from CNN about whether Muslims pose a danger to the country, saying: "I love the Muslims. I think they're great people."
The Republican presidential front-runner made the comment after addressing high school students here at their homecoming Saturday night.
During a question-and-answer session with students, Trump was unable to avoid being asked about the latest political controversy dogging his campaign: his decision not to correct a supporter this week who called President Barack Obama a Muslim.
One student told Trump that she considered Muslim-Americans to be an important segment of the country. They asked whether the billionaire businessman would consider putting a Muslim in his Cabinet or on his ticket.
"Oh, absolutely," Trump responded. "No problem with that."

The Brits had a term for it. It'll work until it doesn't.
I liked the fact that Trump was poking a sharp stick in the eyes of the Republicrat Establishment. I liked his ideas about immigration, and trade, and I believed he would have sorted out much of what has caused this country to go off the rails since WW II.
He is ballsy, and it would appear that he does not take guff FRom anyone. He is a fighter, and we all know that there have been very few Republicans in recent years willing to go nose-to-nose with Democrats and other enemies of America.
But, HST, his love affair with Moslems is a deal breaker.
He walks back his “I love Muslims” comment, and I’ll certainly reconsider.
PS Having said that, I still think the question was a setup; a “Gotcha” question that will be asked of all Conservative candidates and NO LIEberals or Democrats.
I wish he would have just said something like, "I would gladly consider appointing any qualified person to my cabinet as long as they love this country and are committed to the ideals and principles of our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, regardless of their ethnicity or religious background."
Trump will walk that comment back the same day he walks back any of his “I love (insert Chinese, Mexicans, Saudi Arabia, Muslims, etc) comments which will be around the 12th of never.
Don’t wanna vote for him over that. Don’t. He will win anyway :)
His comment taken in context with everything has said to date doesn’t equal support for islamic radical terrorists.
As a Christian, he is supposed to love our enemies.
Trump is on record saying calling ISIS terrible people and wanting to find a General Patton to hit them hard and fast, take away their sources of funding and destroy them.
Trump called out Obama for being excessively PC and refusing to call the Chatanooga shooter a terrorist.
Trump said they would eliminate any terrorist training camps in the U.S. if they find any.
And in the same press conference where he said he loved the muslims he said ""We do have a problem with radical Muslims, there's no question about that," Trump said Sunday.
Wahabist Bent Muslims, right there
Others case by case but remain diligent. One thing you have to give the Muslims is at the end of the day that loyalty is strong and Spiritual...
Watch and See....
I am persuaded that there is no such “thing” as “ordinary Islam.”
Sir Winston Churchill captured the essence of the Islamic culture and the nature of the individual Moslem’s character in 1899:
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.
“The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.
“A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
“Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it.
“No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.
“It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”
Sir Winston Churchill (The River War, first edition, Vol. II, pages 248-50, London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1899).
Wir Winston was right in 1899 and his words are germaine and, perhaps, even more pertinent today.
We MUST be made aware of the dangers of minimalizing the intenntions of the adherents to Islam. We do so at our own peril, as Sir Winston warns us in his last paragraph.

I am persuaded that there is no such thing as ordinary Islam.....OHHHH, yes there is. A moderate Muslim is an Islamic terrorist that hasn’t come to bat yet. A liitle sports lingo there for you.
Trump is an elitist and one those kinds of folks who distains religious tenets and those that deeply profess them. In a Q and A with a Presbyterian group he jocularly refered to the commununion host as a “cracker”, a term btw which the English use to mean a joke, and professed he doesn’t need ask God for forgiveness for his mistakes because he doesn’t make any.
Now to expect for Trump to mention or repudiate Shari law which is its fundamental creed . That claims God has given its adhearants authorization to severely pumish annd execute those who refuse to submit to its arab tribal mores expressed in that code. Is expecting too much. Particularly since; Sadly, the present Pope doesn’t even seem able to do so.
I’ll certainly buy the “sleeper” analogy.
HST, aren’t you just splitting hairs, so to speak?
He/she is only “ordinary” until he/she straps on the vest, picks up the AK and goes to work?
FRicking walking time bombs is what they are!
Read (and liked — thanks for your service) your profile — how does one stay safe in today’s environment?
Well, I consider myself a Christian, but I do not love people or philosophies that scream for my head!

I am not able to decipher.
Thanks.
Donald Trump says: I love Muslims.
Donald Trump thinks: They taste just like chicken.
Oh please. How do you know he doesn’t love Muslims who may not have done nothing to him.
Are you without sin?
A viewpoint enhanced by the fact that troublesome Muslims and Muslim societies were those he had his nose most rubbed into. And that he did not have a world wide web to search.
Such bias is understandable and explainable and errors it introduces are forgivable but we shouldn’t call it the same thing as dispassionate sociological study.
What Islam could be in principle and what it manages to actually be in practice are (and due to the blessings of God even towards unbelievers, in common grace — not due to any praise of men) not equivalent.
Lol, but in a way perhaps apt here.
Could be in part that Trump is asking, what part could he see Muslims in America playing in his vision of a great America.
We would be lying if we said that Trump perhaps does not perceive what a tinderbox they can be, but still even that needs dryness and a spark to get fire. In the meantime I would not be at all surprised to see Trump have zero patience with the political correctness of CAIR, and to see CAIR reduced to perpetual whining under a hypothetical Trump administration.
Om certain that there would Hell to Pay.....for a while at least.
give it another couple....”debates”
