Donald Trump on Saturday responded to a question from CNN about whether Muslims pose a danger to the country, saying: "I love the Muslims. I think they're great people."
The Republican presidential front-runner made the comment after addressing high school students here at their homecoming Saturday night.
During a question-and-answer session with students, Trump was unable to avoid being asked about the latest political controversy dogging his campaign: his decision not to correct a supporter this week who called President Barack Obama a Muslim.
One student told Trump that she considered Muslim-Americans to be an important segment of the country. They asked whether the billionaire businessman would consider putting a Muslim in his Cabinet or on his ticket.
"Oh, absolutely," Trump responded. "No problem with that."

I thought smoking was a no-no for muslims.
Some high skool students also drink hand sanitizer for the alcohol.
We adults should listen to our child Betters...
“You’ve convinced me, Rabbit. We’ll look for Rocky in the city...”
That's the end of Trump right there.
An audience member in Iowa tells Trump she considers Muslim-Americans to be an important asset for the country and asks whether he would consider appointing any to his Cabinet.
He says, Absolutely. No problem.

Do you think any of the other 16 candidates would have answered much differently?
You do not need words to take action. I do not wake up every morning saying “I follow the constitution”. I just live by it. I do not tell my wife every day “I will not cheat on you”. I just do not do it. I do not answer my phone calls by saying “I will not shoot you”, I just do not do it.
Point is words need not precede every action. Beware of people who say lot of words (all politicians) and then seldom follow with action.
Don’t put money on it. LOL!
Since -
one:) Donald Trump is NOT a politician.
two:) Trump cited the Constitution voluminously in his position paper on the Second Amendment, which I notice that you ignored.
You're obviously a political moron, FreeReign.
You'd lose.
He had studied kick boxing in Thailand, and did express the desire to apply it.
But I am sure he was delighted that for once some Muslims were successful in causing havoc in the United States.
Yup.
Honest? He said that just because you put up a sign which said nothing against Muslims? If yes, he was an idiot.
If you want to argue that Trump is no different from any other candidate, go ahead.
Of course but you need words before you take action if you wish to to be elected so that you may take action.
Yeah. It was very eye opening.
Before that I though that they meant it when they said we’re all “people of the book” worshiping the same God.
It was crystal clear that a reference to the God of Abraham and Isaac deeply offended this worshiper of the god of mohammad and ishmael.
The candidates all share some positions in common. It think when Trump says he loves you it is the Sicilian kiss of death. Kind of like when Southern women say "well bless your heart".
That's like saying his farts smell like Pine-Sol.
I think Trump missed a golden opportunity to express that many mussies are goat humping murderous swine. And then say I assume some are decent people too. But maybe he was just off his game today.
I really hate people that everyone is either their friend or they love them.
Total BS in my book and will not stand solid when the time comes to bow your back and stand tough on an issue.
This is why Trump is not for me....
