Carly Fiorinas political future depends on whether she can defend her record as CEO of Hewlett-Packard.
The likely GOP presidential candidate is aiming to do just that in her new book Rising to the Challenge, set to be released May 5, a day after the expected launch of her 2016 campaign. Fiorina now claims the companys decision to fire her in 2005, after a turbulent six-year tenure, was a result of a dysfunctional board of directors and not her leadership.
In an interview with The Hill, Fiorina said members of her own board leaked confidential information to the media to undermine her decisions, though she stopped short of alleging outright sexism. She was the first female CEO of a Fortune 20 company. Men understand other mens need for respect, but they dont always understand womens need for respect, Fiorina said. The situation that transpired in the boardroom was all about certain board members wanting to protect their position when they felt threatened, because their behavior was against the code of conduct, and they knew that I as a leader would not tolerate that conduct.
When asked again if she thought underlying sexism contributed to her firing, she said, Theres no question that women in positions of authority are scrutinized differently, criticized differently and characterized different.
-snip-
Still, she said President George W. Bush called to offer her a job in his administration the day after she was fired, though she declined to say which one.

You can’t be a CEO of two companies, run for Senator and run for President and then say you’re picking on the girl. No, No, No !
But that's the RNC's admission - which I don't respect since they are the establishment GOPers. That's their way of trying to sandbag her .
All I'm saying is that I'm keeping an open mind and not trigger happy like most on this board to dismiss her at this point The 1st tier candidates I absolutely refuse to vote for are:
Bush
Christi
Kasich
Paul
Not a Carly fan but I find this comment interesting in this era of politicians doubling-down and never apologizing or admitting mistakes. Some seem to find that a good trait. To be fair I don't hear Trump talking much about his mistakes .. or other candidates talking about their mistakes either for that matter.
The short snip that you post demonstrates two things, in my opinion: Both sufficient insights into Carly’s thought processes to demonstrate why she will not overtake Trump—too vulnerable to easy dissection;—but also that she is more analytic than Karl Rove. Rove has a great memory for yesterday’s focus of different elements of the public; but all the analytic ability of lichen on the shady side of a rock.
Give me a break. Trump can insult and denigrate people all day long but that’s funny to you. It bugs me that he behaves more like Don Rickles than a presidential candidate.
I think that the Lucent damage is even worse than HP. Hoping that it all comes out, over and over again, until she is driven OUT of the race!!
I seen this back in the years of starting of the N.O.W. (National Organization of Women)and how they wanted to do a man’s job (and in some cases, more money)...
Well, my husband was managing an A.T.&T warehouse, where the men would come in, pick up their assignments for the day for telephone repairs, and that included climbing poles, and get in their trucks and tools they needed for the day of work. The district manager hired a woman, no bigger than I am, 5’3” about 115 pounds, first thing you have to do is strap on pole ankle climbers and climb a pole and you can’t do this until the boss (my late husband) had to write off on it....so she tried, she couldn’t do it...(I tired to do it, did it and it hurts like all get out, you have to slam this spike into the pole with the inside of your ankle, to hold you then do it with the other foot until you get to the top of the poll, along with a belt to hold you to the pole as your doing this with another belt that holds all your tools)...this woman couldn’t do it, so a call was made to the District Manager, and he told my husband to have her clean out the warehouse until they could find something else for her to do...well that wasn’t what she wanted, so she filed suit....long story short, she lost her case...
So now it seems that there are just some jobs that women can’t do that a man can, but you see, I don’t believe in doing a man’s job to begin with, there are some jobs that women can do, there are some manager jobs some women can do and some that can’t...
I’m sure there are women out there that have just as great of a brain than a man has, but certain jobs are for men....managing a big company is a little more complex and stressful and very demanding that is beyond a woman’s style...(and don’t get me wrong, if a woman can do it, ok, but I don’t like it)
I was raised that the men were fixers and the women were nurturers and I know that is not the norm of today, but how many women do you see on a National Football Team? How many women do you see on a National Hockey Team? That’s why they created their own teams (women’s teams).
Snarly Carly went into this job, which IMHO, had no business going into and screwed it up, lost a ton of profit, people lost their lively hood and then she did the same with Lucent, so that right there tells you she can’t do the job of POTUS! I don’t know what all a President does, don’t want to know, but I can tell you, I don’t want her running MY company...(and yes I run my company just fine!)
I won’t vote for her, because of her track record, and because I don’t think a woman needs to be in the White House proving to the world she’s an idiot...and along with that, that is what Snarly Carly and shillary would be doing!!!
It will be fun to watch Carly try to defend what she did at Lucent.
She is funded by McCanes group Univision
She fired tens of thousands from companies she ran and out sourced their jobs over seas
She has tie to ROve for decades.
She criticizes Trump but has connections to the Clinton Foundation
She critics both Boxer and Whitman’s appearance (caught on open mike.) Cries about Trump saying “look at that face” but SHE chooses a horse for her code name. Creating “horseface” herself
Apparently you are supportive of the Gopee. Jim Robinson and this site is not
She will LIE and spin like she always does, hopefully a large majority of people won’t buy into it...
“It takes no courage for a sociopath to fire or hurt anyone.”
Right. But it’s worse than that; they enjoy it. I was an Admin. Assistant for one — a female V.P. of Human Resources for a hospital. We were going through a medium RIF and she was calling those being “let go” into her office, one by one.
One pitiful guy who had worked in the hospital laundry for about 30 years was next on her list. She gave him the bad news and he left, obviously in emotional pain. I needed to give her a message so walked in right away, only to see her rubbing her palms together and mumbling, “I love this job!” When she realized I’d seen/heard her, she was embarrassed — but not very.
So it seems that sociopaths seem to have a touch of sadism in them as well. As one talking head on Fox said, Carly and Hillary are the same in that they’re both “cold and inhuman”.
More qualified male engineers were passed over for promotions all the time in favor of less competent females.
They secretly aspire to be the concentration camp guard
Not true! Those in the tech industry have known about this woman since the 80's/90's. She left several dead or critically injured companies in her wake. No way would we trust her to run a country when she couldn't even handle keeping a major company afloat!
Don't be swayed by her tough female talk. She's also for amnesty and is in favor of abortion in cases of rape.
This is most definitely NOT the Palin treatment! It's a competency issue!
“women were nurturers “
Boy, have times changed. When I look at Carly, the attribute, “nurturer”, never comes close to entering my mind. Cold and distant — very off-putting.

Fiorina is the ultimate Bush insider.
From 2007 until 2009, she chaired the CIAs External Advisory Board.
She was appointed by Bush and Michael Hayden, who famously lied to congress about the NSAs spying activities against all American citizens through our computers (PRISM). PRISM began in 2007, the same year that former HP CEO Fiorina joined the advisory board...
She has a long relationship with the Bush administration going back to 9/11.

She was recruited into the race to run interference for the Bush clan.

Check out article, and esp comments about Fiorina’s previous performance. - Dismal record; not good.
Thanks, Maggie.
And they’d be good at it.
I know, look at what women have become today...sad isn’t it...
Well said!
The Bible says God will give nations the kind of rulers they deserve, so maybe we will have a second Obama. I earnestly pray not.
