Trump is not the man to lead us
American Thinker ^ | Sept 17, 2015 | Patricia McCarthy

Anyone who watched the GOP debate tonight had to realize what a jerk Donald Trump truly is. While he may satisfy a certain lust in our hearts for someone who will poke the left and the GOP "leadership," he is a poster boy for self-love and bad manners. He may be brilliant at making money and deals, but tonight he did his usual bragging about his wealth and success, he insulted all of his fellow opponents on the stage, and he blew hard without much substance in his windy retorts.

He gets a few things right – the danger posed by North Korea, and the fact that criminal illegal aliens are a terrible threat to our safety and need to be deported. Beyond that, there was very little to remember about his performance. He mugged, smirked, and stuck his nose in the air. While many of us may have enjoyed his amusing entry into the fray, we should admit he is not presidential material. Not even close.

Those of us who are enraged at the lack of pushback by our elected GOP leadership should be forgiven for welcoming Trump's cocky, arrogant style; it was like getting to slap McConnell and Boehner across the face for their failure to live up to our expectations. But after a couple of months, the man's true nature is obnoxiously obvious: he is as big a narcissist as Obama. To elect him would be to trade one man afflicted with a personality disorder for another. Despite the differences in their professed ideologies, the results would likely be the same: national disaster. We cannot afford another national disaster as president. We are about to be overrun by the barbarians at the gates.

The POTUS needs to be a good CEO. Define a vision, move forward boldly and find the best people to do the job. Trump knows how to do that.

lol, just imagine the concessions he’d get from the Russians and the Arabs. Maybe they’d pull out of Syria? Or the Ukraine? Or drop the price of oil?

See, there’s always a bright side.

Criminal illegal aliens? Every single solitary illegal alien is a criminal.

If I’m not mistaken, Rand Paul stated sometime before the debate that he would not want Trump with his finger on the Nuclear button.

First question of the debate and Trump gets asked a question no candidate is ever asked, thus Trump’s response to Paul.

AFAIK

We must have a President who is level headed, of an even temper, who is smart, thoughtful, a planner, who considers counsel from military department heads (when we get Obama’s yes men out), and can communicate with clarity to the nation so this country will recover from the Obamanation that has crippled this country...

Who could not look at Trump’s business success and his children and not see that he has an even temper, is smart, thoughful, a planner, etc. etc? Surely it’s obvious that behind what you see, there is a very intellegent man who has really accomplished what none of the other candidates have.

Trump is “no-nonsense?”

Responding to a question with a non sequitur about a third party bystander strikes me as pretty much the definition of “nonsense.”

Rush is NOT supporting Karly FioRino.

In fact, Rush warned us two days ago that she would be the “DH” at the debates and he was right.

The rest of your post sounds reasonable.

Who do you think Cruz would be running against, John F. Kennedy?

Cruz’s personality far outshines the likes of Hillary, Bernie Sanders, or Joe-The-Dumber Biden. So I think he’ll be fine.

Man would I love to watch him debate Hillary for 2 hours one-on-one!

Hank

It needed saying.

WTF *was* that little freak doing there?

Shouldn’t he be in a bunker with his dad, awaiting the mothership?

Sometimes, it’s more important to fire the one you have, thus blocking access, than waiting until you have a better replacement.

I had a conflict on Wednesday night, so I just now finished watching the taped debate. My take on Trump? He’s an ass. Not a fool, but his braggadocio and self-satisfied smirking grated on me in the first hour. And his response that he’d be able to handle complex foreign affairs, particularly in the middle East, by assembling a “team” — apparently to relieve him of the necessity of boning up on issues — was laughable. (Rubio took him down very well on that.)

Because Trump has more money than God, it would be very difficult for the other candidates to best him, but I hope he gets bored or implodes. I think he’d be a disastrous President.
