When the Nobel committee awarded President Obama the Peace Prize just eight and a half months after he stepped foot in the Oval Office, many people were left scratching their heads. After all, what, exactly, had this community organizer-turned-president done yet to deserve a prize shared by the likes of Mother Theresa? Well, even the committee acknowledged at the time they werent giving it to him for accomplishments already made, but those hoped for.
And now, according to a new memoir by the former director of Norways Nobel Institute, the committee believes it may have made a mistake.
[We] thought it would strengthen Obama and it didnt have this effect, Geil Lundestad told the Associated Press in an interview.
Lundestad, who stepped down last year after 25 years as the non-voting secretary of the secretive committee, noted that Obama was startled by the award and that his staff even investigated whether other winners had skipped the prize ceremony in Oslo.
That has happened only on rare occasions, such as when dissidents were held back by their governments.
"In the White House they quickly realized that they needed to travel to Oslo," Lundestad wrote.
"Even many of Obama's supporters believed that the prize was a mistake," Lundestad wrote in excerpts of the book, the AP reports. "In that sense the committee didn't achieve what it had hoped for."
Lundestads book offers a rare glimpse into the inner workings of the committee whose decision-making process is typically shrouded in secrecy.
This is the same committee of simpletons that awarded Gorbachev the “Peace” prize for having ended the Cold War but did not recognize Reagan, who was the man who really ended it, solely because they didn’t like his politics. A real sham of a prize from a half-assed organization.
The Nobel committee may have made a mistake? May have made a mistake? Everything connected with their winner has been a mistake since 01/20/09.
After the ridiculous Obama Epoch is over, and the tell-all books are being published, the MSM useful idiots and the “various elites” will be putting distance between themselves and Obama faster than Dale, Jr. at Talladega.
You’re way too optimistic. Most of them will never admit that Obama was a terrible failure.

> I read back then that he was nominated 3 weeks before he took office. Idiots.
Back then the believed he was a god among men. Now they know he’s the Anti-Christ and nothing he touches has anything to do with peace. In fact, just the opposite.
Darwin Award (immense vacuum exists between those two honking ears, maybe even a black hole)
When the debacle is over, and publishers (particularly British publishers who revel in this sort of thing) are offering gigantic money for the dirt, there’ll be takers, believe me.
I see. They made a mistake. Wrong guy.
So.... is the Nobel Committee saying that all blacks look alike ?
Giving Obama the White House was a really really big mistake.
That may be true for the Brits. But the NYT still lists Walter Duranty, who covered up the Ukraine terror famine, as a Pulitzer Prize winner.
Whoda thunk it?
Oh yeah, geniuses? It took you this long to figure it out?
Well, duh!
Just one of many NYT useful idjits throughout the years. I’m sure they hire a new one daily.
liberals....they are idiots and never understand the consequences of their actions.
Wait... Didn’t I hear they were thinking of giving President Evil another Nobel Prize?
[”Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Yasser Arafat, Mikhail Gorbachev.”]
Al Gore = Really Stupid (despite his brilliant invention of the internet)
Jimmy Carter = Well-meaning but misguided and naïve
Yasser Arafat - Father of Terrorism
Mikhail Gorbachev - Meh.
Well, the Black Alfred E. Newman won.
