On Wednesday, the normally peaceful and sedate atmosphere of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley was transformed into a hectic, crowded and high-energy setting as the eyes of America, and many in the world, tuned into the second round of the GOP Presidential Debates.

President Barack Obama won the two-party vote among female voters in the 2012 election by 12 points, 56% to 44%, over Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Meanwhile, Romney won among men by an eight-point margin, 54% to 46%.
I am embarrassed that he only won by 8 among males. There must be a lot of male idiots out there.
During that question about whose picture should go onto a $10 or $20 bill, did anyone suggest Reagan himself?
If not, would these anti-Trump donors hiss at the mere mention of Reagan?
Yes, even though this debate was in the Reagan library, I do wonder if the GOPe donors would’ve hissed at the thought of putting Reagan’s image on the $10 or $20.
Am I mistaken in believing you gentlemen would prefer if “they”, as in women, did not have the right to vote in our country?
Truly, I ask out of interest and curiousity. This isn’t an issue I’ve ever encountered before reading your posts, but apparently I’m uninformed.
Not at all. I DO wish that at least the women I know would follow politics a lot more closely, and stop focusing on perceived slights, like the pay gap etc.
FR women excepted of course.
Yes you are, my fault in not making myself clear.
Universal Suffrage, which has been achieved via amending the Constitution save for felons in some states, is the de facto status quo.
Only RESPONSIBLE people should vote. Gender is not an issue.
Responsible women are RIGHT WING.
You do know that the FOUNDERS deliberately did not put a right to vote in the (HAPPY CONSTITUTION DAY!) Constitution for a reason , right?
It was unlimited seating, unfortunately.
I heard tickets went for one million bucks - don’t know first hand.
Believe the Reagan can hold more so don’t know how the seating was arranged.
I’ve been to the (handsome, interesting) Reagan Library many times.
The location is stunning, as well as the drive up to it.
If anyone is ever within an hour of it - GO!
Reagan’s Air Force One, the backdrop for the debate last night, is so small compared to what is flown now.
If the floor of the entire hangar was seating, lots more people could have been accomodated.
Oh - NOW I understand why there was limited seating - because of the area chosen - in front of the (smaller) jet of the era.
Reagan’s helicopter and limo - motorcycles, too, are also on display in the hanger.
I believe the smaller the audience, the reluctance to applaud. Almost always, someone has to ‘lead the way.’
Come to a head? The zit has popped. My choices are Cruz then Trump, but I won't sit and let a Hillary go unopposed - might as well eat one of my guns if willing to do that.
I’ll vote for Trump and Cruz on a third party ticket. Wouldn’t be your usual sure losers.
No arguments there - let’s hope either or both are available when the time comes. We need some real leadership that cares about the People for a change.
Yeah, the audience was more anti-Cruz than anti-Trump, but it was both.
Someone also mentioned cutting off the applause.
And I noticed a lot of the annoying TV-host habit of cutting off the last few words of what someone is saying. It gives you zero time to digest what they have said, and sometimes even obscures the last few words. Plus it is arrogant and rude and casts an opinion on what has just been said.
They think this gives the show a snappy, edgy flow, but all it does is prove what idiots they are.
I didn’t watch-—instead I followed the live thread here on FR, and it looked like every time Ted Cruz got on a roll.
